Charleston Take2 - JUOTA 2021

Postby The Fish » 01 Jun 2020, 18:47

Keen to carry this over as this fell a victim to circumstances this year, so thought it worth a new thread, if only as a placehoder and to signal intent. THis gives everyone a whole year to plan. I know one or two were wavering on this year before it became apparent it wasn't going to happen, so really hoping that everyone can get behind this if at all possible.

This event in years past has really shown the best of BCB, and provided some great memories from Memphis 2005 to Chicago 2015 (yes it really wil be SIX YEARS since we last did this).

Memorial Day weekend as usual. I appreciate there won't be an inital rush given it's a year away, but I'd like to see who's interested even. Jumper ? Yomp ? SixString ? Hatz ? Baron/Minnie ?

Those originally down for this year - Livet ? Snowdog ? Corp Whore/Witchypoo (dependent of course on them NOT buying tickets to sit in a muddy field with a bunch of hippies).

Sambient has already shown some enthusiam. Let's make this happen. Come one come all (first timers as ever especially welcome)

Me, before President Virus further polluted the swamp:

Pillowz might also be sent to Nashville for work at some point, so that might play into it too.

Anyway, an interested definite maybe.

Still true for 2021. My mood with depend largely on what's going on in the world by then. Hopefully a sane, functioning adult will be president of the US by then.

It's a great idea and a great location. However, I think it's unlikely for us. I think the same family function in the UK that was keeping us away this year has been rescheduled for the same time next year. But a year is a long time, time will tell.

I think it unlikely I will attend. If I go to the States next year I'll probably try and do SXSW in Austin as this year was a major fiasco due to Covid. Although it was great to catch up with Baron and Min and eat a cow.

Good possibility for me but like Dave, it will depend on how things develop over the next year. Six years? Wow.

Should we start talkin' about 2022? I like the southern trip idea, though FWIW we're already planning on Jellystone (and route stops on the way both up and down in neighboring states) in the spring.

I might, of course, be stir crazy enough to plan TWO trips (can't imagine we're flying across any oceans till '23 at the earliest), so I'm running it up the proverbial flagpole...
