Austin JU - Saturday 29th June.

Events people say they're coming to until a day or so before the event.

You're gonna think I'm sloop, I don't know that I packed any shirts with sleeves. All sandals for my footwear. Packed so light that Longlegs and I fit our gear all in one suitcase.

Drinking has expensively started at the Phila airport for the east coast contingent. Hopefully
The area storms won't hinder our departure.

Boy did we get delayed. But the Philly contingent has landed, checked in, and wandered to The Continental Club right before last call.

Ha!

Sam, I don't think anyone would ever confuse you with me, sleeves or no sleeves.

Well that was all fun. And unbearably hot.
That whole 6th St mayhem definitely reminded me of a hybrid of NOLA's Bourbon St and Vegas' Freemont St.

I've nearly matched Minnie's Infamous Death March across the Golden Gate with yesterday's walk from Town Lake into downtown and almost to the end of Sixth Street to Easy Tiger, a place that, on any other night, could be a perfectly pleasant place for a BCBer to hang. It's under street level, near an urban creek. Last night, after the hottest day of the year, it was just humid and the air wasn't moving. But we were only slightly deterred, and (I hope) managed to enjoy some food and beer after a series of walks in the heat.

I'm happy to see that the Philly Contingent is already out and about this morning, but the Yorkshire Massive is still out for the count ... likely a little zapped by heat and, to a lesser degree, hooch.

Tonight, we return to a bastion of relative sanity amidst the 6th St. Zoo, but I doubt anyone will be walking into town tonight, and I suspect we'll relish the A/C in what is sure to go down as the hottest JU on record.

It was around 20% during the heat of the day, but was rising in the evening and was around 45% when we left at midnight with temps in the high 80s.

As the party walked to the lake for the bat cruise and waited in line to get in the boat, it was 103. It was 99 when the ship sailed.

Hottest JU on record, I suspect.

I bet! :)
Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

Part three begins in a couple of hours. I'm delighted people came from so far and wide to enjoy Austin. Let's hope this opens the floodgates for more visitors to this great, great part of Texas.

Apologies that I've been a bit shit at contributing to my own bloody thread. We haven't really stopped for about ten days and there's been no time to reflect!

I've never lived anywhere sort of 'cool' before so it's specifically lovely to have people come and enjoy what I now consider my home. It's always lovely to meet new BCBers, and I do acknowledge that if you're a BCB chick, you do look forward to meeting the other BCB chicks, even though I don't really know why. So, how lovely to meet Sambient after all this time. Casino el Camino is a fantastic venue for a JU, but regrettably the overbearing heat meant sitting outside even at 11pm was a no no. This led to voices having to be a bit more 'shouty' as we had the (splendid) jukebox on constantly. But no matter.

I sincerely urge each and every one of you to come to Austin if you get the chance. It's a great place to hang out. Bring mosquito repellent and a fan. Thanks everyone for coming to party with us.
