Great band. 'Yeti' is one of my favorite albums.
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?

Out of the big four krautrock bands (the other three being Can, Kraftwerk and NEU!), Amon Duul are the ones I listen to the least these days. There was a time when I considered them the best of the big four but I just can't get as excited over them as I used to. Too much 60's noodling indulgence going on, perhaps? The other three still sound ahead of their time while AD sound of their time.

I am so glad this exists. Not just as something to "appreciate", but I am impressed to think that this came out the same year as Let It Bleed (the double-tracked drums in particular are kicking my ass). I've listened to every Youtube video posted and I love this band. I want to say it's challenging, but again, that implies this is somehow an exercise in appreciation. I find it all highly listenable, in a way that I find that pushing toward extremes can provide the biggest thrills (so long as you don't fall head first into cacophony). I don't find it any more Teutonic than, say, Side One of Atom Heart Mother, but these fuckers can play. Perhaps this is the music I've been searching for all these years. So far, so good.

I cant post it from this iPad, but "Loosey Girls" is a great glam chant. One of my faves. Check it out!

My introduction to them:

I was in Cleveland once in the early 90s for work and this came on the radio:

I was transfixed (especially by the part where they kick it up a notch toward the end) and wound up waiting in a van in the cold through a really long DJ set to find out whose song it was. Good times! :)

Wow, had no idea they were still active musically.
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?
