Le Orme the third greatest Italian prog band

I love them.

A track taken from their mid-70s Verità Nascoste album

Lots going on and full of music - nice Wishbone-esque guitar and lovely keyboards

Delightful

The opening was an absolute nick from the wonderful Spring!

Nice vocals and pretty solid stuff.

A track of two halves - first guitar then keyboards

It reminded me of many things....

Sorry, somewhat derivative for me.

Good, but not as good as Le O

A I’ve heard a bit of Le Orme before, but they’ve never grabbed me. This didn’t either.
B Wolfmother. Sounded as if it could have been recorded in the early 70s.
Not really fussed about either. But I’ll go for the proggier selection.

A just didn't engage me particularly. Nothing offensive or off-putting, just not much going for it.

B is by one of the few modern 'throwback' bands I kind of like. They understand song structure and are not particularly precious about what they're doing, so they sound a lot less self-conscious to my ears than much of their ilk. And they're actually the more proggy of the two for good measure.

I've heard some Le Orme before but it's never really stuck with me. This did not really stand out in any remarkable way either but I did enjoy the middle section. I get the Wishbone Ash comparisons but that's not a real endorsement for me but it gradually build to a strong-ish finale.

B had a few elements from the past from of a ponderous feel in the intro to a solid 70s rock section and a Proggy organ driven finale with some crunchy guitar chords. Not entirely my thing but on the whole I thought it was the better song of the two.

le orme was good. very pleasant on the ear, skipping along, nice instrumentation, but it didn't do anything really impactful.

B did grab me. if yer gonna be throwbackish, make sure its riiiiight to my sweet spot, mwhaha. (i need to listen to this whole album. there was some other track somewhere, another cup no doubt, i also loved.)

There were parts of the Le Orme track I liked and parts I didn't like. Didn't care for the singer at all. You can have fun playing "spot the influence" listening to Wolfmother, but sometimes copycats can be fun.

A - Strong song by Le Orme. They played a great set at NEARfest 05.

B- Wolfmother - throw back band that does a good job. They act the part too saw them twice early on in small clubs. Entertaining live.
Haven't kept up with them and this is an okay track from a later album.

B is just beyond pastiche. I really don't get why modern bands insist on doing this, badly.
A is bobbins of course, but infinitely preferable to B.

I'm usually quite partial to Italian prog, but that left me rather cold

I'll go with the young'uns

Didn’t mind A although points lost for feeble vocals.

B was more enjoyable - right up my street.

Well, same here too. A is ok in its way, but B is pretty great.

Without really taking off, Le Orme were more fun and interesting to me than Wolfmother.
