B has a lot against it - it's repetitive, overwrought, too long by half, a very standard BCB-approved "obscurity," and not really prog to boot (though I guess prevailing wisdom now says jammy post-psych fits under 'Broad Church'). But it's far better than that A monstrosity. My vote was already decided before the awful Gilmourish guitar solo came in. Apparently these guys are Celtic-influenced, so I'll allow for the possibility that they have other stuff that I'd like more. But as it stands this is a contender for worst entry so far.

A sounds like the work of people who play the Renaissance Faire circuit.

B has outstanding lead guitar but dreadful vocals, and is melodically dull to boot. The "squirrel stew" line was funny at least.

A is dull and derivative.

B has some searing fuzzy guitar and over the top vocals , it's not great but better than A.

B

Have to say that I'm very surprised that anyone would choose Mostly Autumn. They are much, much too tasteful for BCB!

Wow. A is so slick, you can skate over it.
B brings the fuzz and wins convincingly!

sorry to say, neither did a thing for me.

for all of B's fuzz, it was just... no, i don't want the void. say it anuther 20 times, i still don't want it.

A, as many have noted, is... hm. but at least it has its melodic, pretty moment, as overdone and drawn out as it is.

irrelevant sidenote: there is one track that represents my candle in the window, the one i light for my beluvveds who've gone, in my warped mind. the one that really means what this song is trying to express. and that would be tull's elegy.

I found A a bit bland and predictable.

B was not the best either but it had a bit more about it.

I feel sorry for the proposer of A, we forget these tunes mean something, sometimes much, to those who propose them.

Sorry, though - I actually like B more.

A- saw Mostly Autumn open for Nektar in 02. Okay band and this a nice mellow track can see me adding it to a night playlist.

B- like the guitar but not much more. Vocals were barbaric and this is more proto prog.

I'll take the mellow MA track
