Re: PC21- Round 6 Match 6
Back to the 70s. Good!
A is alright - it does that thing that prog bands always do when playing slower, more 'meditative' songs - the drummer has no idea what to do, and ends up stomping all over it with inappropriate counter-rhythms all over the place. Otherwise fine, but sometimes less is more, even in prog!
As for B, African prog - why not? It suffers from a bit of the same - no doubt the drums overplay on this one too - but it's a nice eclectic blend of a lot of things, including musicianship and rawness. A touch of funk, too - always welcome in these competitions.

Re: PC21- Round 6 Match 6
A has got the atmospheric vibe I like but it goes nowhere and the singer gets annoying even before he gets all screamy at the end.
If B is prog, so is "Low Budget" by The Kinks, but I'll go with it because I doubt if I'll have another chance to vote for a Zamrock track, at least n this Cup.

A has got that slow ethereal atmospheric vibe down nice, mellotron is always welcome in the mix, like the vocals too. Love the drums and fuzz guitar in B, tough match this but the mellotron edges it.

Indian Summer - a great band that sadly only made one eponymous album.
This is a brilliant slow-burner of a track which builds nicely against a backdrop of sun-drenched mellotron and delicate guitar.
Attractive vocals too.
Love it!
Witch was excellent - penetrating tubs blasts away with nice bass overlaid with delightful guitar
Foot tappin' stuff
Adequate vocals
This is difficult - a close match-up
Ok, one is more prog than the other- that's my criteria for this match as it's close

Hmm. I'm erring on the side of Witch here. Not heard it before and its a little more dynamic than the less than space occupying slightness of Indian Summer.

Really enjoyed Witch, who are new to me. Indian Summer were good but not as joyous.

Re: PC21- Round 6 Match 6
both are groovy. but as much as i love the fuzziness of B, it's kinda three-chord-city, if ya know what i mean. mwhahaha. i don't mean that as an insult. it's just... fuzzy, psych-y. but pretty standard fare. it's garage band cool, but not so standout to moi.
i'll take the luvvverly vibe of A.

I liked the relaxed exotic feel of the Indian Summer track. Nice atmospheric guitar and I like the drums too.
B was pretty decent too. Never heard of them at all but sounded promising.
Good match but I'll go A

Both very good tracks, good match.
I like Witch just a tad better. It is those Ray Davies-esque vocals.
