Special mention to LMG who soundly kicked my arse by coming 1 place above me. A special medal is on its way.

Pretty unlikely I’ll wager.

When do the next rounds start? Surely people have chosen their next songs? I chose mine and I didn’t even get through!

Such a shame future anthropologists may lose out on the penetrating insights into the nature of our society offered if such posts as this are lost to time and the eventual dissolution of the internet.

Results semi-final:

John aka Josh 1 - 1 trans-chigley express

1. trans-chigley express (Steve Reich/Pat Metheny) - John aka Josh (Luciano Basso) 7 - 8
4. trans-chigley express (Flash) - John aka Josh (Ozric Tentacles) 8 - 6
6. John aka Josh (SBB) - trans-chigley express (NEU!) 7 - 7

fange 2 - 1 Purgatory Brite

2. fange (Can) - Purgatory Brite (Savage Grace) 11 - 4
3. Purgatory Brite (Le Orme) - fange (Wolfmother) 7 - 8
5. fange (Stomu Yamash'ta's East Wind) - Purgatory Brite (Genesis) 6 - 9

Congrats fange, you're the first one through to the semi-final!

As for the other tie, this will go to a tie-breaker!
Can John aka Josh and trans-chigley express supply me ONE track each which will decide who will go to the final?

No offence meant to JaJ of course, but have you decided to not use vote difference to split them, Maarts?

I have thought about that. It's one vote the difference between the two. I didn't post out what would happen if any matches were tied.
I think it's a fair solution to have a tiebreaker. Neither deserve to lose on one vote.

That means I'll have to vote against you again Ray....!

[of course that is absolutely rubbish - I voted for you in all three matches - and yes thanks, the content of the plain brown envelope will come in handy....]
