A very good track by Gave Gilmour, but it is completely overshadowed by Move's progressive rock classic. The sound of Bevan, Lynne and Wood on the very cusp of progressive and prog rock.

The Gilmour track is a superb selection from a very strong album. (Only Richard Wright's Wet Dream is stronger form all the Floyd solos)

Superb - I really enjoyed that - I'll dig the album out later.

The Move - the title track from their third album is a delight and qualifies as a CC [well done boys]

Soem nice guitar work - FREAK OUT!

A reasonable attempt at the sitar from the Wizzo too

So 2 CCs matched against each other.

I'll go for the one that is more indelibly inscribed in my DNA

-+A+-

oooooof!

A frankly sounds like Pink Floyd. A bit obvious, I guess, but that's generally a negative in my world. No Roger Waters involvement is an advantage, but there's not much involvement of any kind, really. It's all a bit dull and 'worthy' sounding, which I guess fit the remit at the time. I totally get why it did well, and I totally get why I'm not connecting with it.

I am not quite hearing what those who like B a lot are hearing - sounds a bit lugubrious to me, and overlong - but there's some great riffage buried in it, and there's something to be said for the tension between Lynne and Wood, especially as it's what's really missing from A - which is of course a common problem with 70s solo albums.

The Move went a bit mental at this stage in their career didn't they?
A is just horrible.

The Gilmore album is just about the only Floyd solo album worth having and this track is smooth and mellow with a strong enough melody to save it from becoming too bland.

The Move track is altogether more exciting, although it could have easily become a turgid piece of lumpen 70s rock in lesser hands but Roy Wood has the talent and imagination to turn it into something really rather good.

My views are very much in line with TCE's.

I'm probably one of the only ones favoring Waters solo over Gilmour...my word, this is just boring.
The Move may sound lumpen in comparison but is much better!

A - Gilmour's best outside of Floyd? A nice track that actually also holds up.

B - I like this Move tune have it on a playlist.

Tough call well just got back from Solid Sound Festival so I'll take the better guitarist in Gilmour.
