I didn't like A, much too arthouse for me.

It takes something special for me not to vote for Chappo and co.

I never realized before how this Family cut reminds me of Aphrodite's Child - the vocal partly, I think.

Like them both up to a point. B is the kind of band that I should love, in theory. All over the place musically, but with identifiable features that tie it all together. Ultimately nothing has grabbed me and not let go, and this pleasant but ultimately forgettable track is on roughly the same wavelength.

A's "charms" are more to the fore, but if anything even more fleeting.

This Heat have this opendimensional sound that I really like, even if the vocals don't always match it. I do like the psychedelic quality of Family a bit better in this tie.

A was not to my taste...

Their debut single full of oooofness

I quite enjoyed the clatter of A and the chanting intro but the vocals were not to my taste.

I like the psychedelic swirl of the opening of B more the rockier second half but it's good enough for the vote.

A - The far reaches of the Canterbury scene. Love Charles Hayward avante garde drumming and vocals. Very Henry Cow feel. Although repetitive it still works

B. - nice family tune but I'll take

The very mention of Henry Cow makes me grumpy but I actually quite liked A. (The controlled cacophony reminded me of one of my favourite bands, Neutral Milk Hotel.)

B was decent too and it is hard to choose but for the shock factor I’ll go for A.

Both tracks enjoyable in their own ways. I like the psychedelic "Side-B Piper" feel to B, whilst I enjoy the Resident-isms of A. I suppose A by a hair.

I'll take early Family (with Chappo's vocal histrionics thankfully absent) over cacaphony.
