The Finnish national anthem has the exact same melody as the Estonian one!
You come at the Queen, you best not miss.

Geothermal pools come in many sizes. I stepped in one about the size of my shoe while walking towards a larger one. Sunk passed my ankle in alkaline muck!

That there is a British 'Monster Truck"'- not this vehicle but similar

Image

That weighs 5.5 tonnes, has a top speed of 75 mph and an incredible acceleration of 0 to 60 in under 4 seconds - as fast as a Porsche. That is, built with incredible torque.

Now, and this is the amazing part, when the owner was asked about the fuel consumption it was:

30 gallons to the mile!

oooof!

PS - I subsequently found this [another!]

Could Tony Blair actually get elected again?

Are we nostalgic for New Labour?
Never were public services so good as under Blair – his return is improbable.....

The name of the ancient North African city, 'Carthage', means 'new city'.
So, when the Romans conquered the Spanish city now known as Cartagena, and renamed it as Nova Cartago, they were calling it New, New City.

Yes, he wrote the 'tune'.

And there's you saying none of the Manfreds ever went on to do anything that interested you!

Ner ner.

In fact, it was Porridge that doomed Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads. Clement and La Frenais had just done 7 'pilots' for Ronnie Barker and the BBC really liked the one that became Porridge. The writers didn't have time to do both, so the third series of WHTTLL got ditched.
What had been written so far eventually became the feature film.

Abel Meeropol (who wrote "Strange Fruit") and his wife Anne (who was the first to sing it publicly) adopted the orphaned sons of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg when no one in their extended family would take them in. (Interesting article here.)
