Are you sure you've not mistaken the desert island for room 101. :?

:D

I held back from making a similar comment!

But it's great writing, Molony, a pleasure to read.

There seems to be a divorce theme running through this one. Another enjoyable read but I'd happily abandon that Brotherhood of Man tune on a desert island!

Yeah, I decided to choose the records that reflected periods of time in my life rather than eight records that I would actually like to sit and listen to forever. As most of the music that is linked to other people has arisen from communality rather than me sitting alone listening to Can it is inevitable that it will be mainstream and vanilla.

I've been thoroughly enjoying all of these, but Molony's especially - I love the inclusion of the B of M, not because it's a seminal song but because of the personal memories associated with it. The motivation for choosing certain tracks has been interesting in all of the DIDs so far...

Keep up the good work, chaps!

Just to second that!

What a great idea for a theme! :) I'm really looking forward to these; when your heart's involved it becomes so much more. And I'm waiting for Stephen's (Carlsson) to see / hear just what happened all those years ago.... ;)

I so nearly missed this, but thank goodness I didn't.

It's lovely, Spen. Beautifully evocative of your life and really very, very touching. I love how you've used songs with such emotional attachments - it was quite moving.

yours is the second thread i've read of this series so far, and i'll say the same thing i said to Beebsy; i feel as if i know you a lot better now.... even though you didn't go too far into certain events, it's obvious you've been through a lot in your lifetime... the next time i listen to your original songs, i'm sure it'll feel like there are more layers to them... thanks for posting this, it was an enjoyable read :)

This was unexpectedly emotional for me, seeing that it was very personal, Molony has just been married, and we're very close in age.
Excellent!
