Peter Bogdanovich RIP

Acclaimed film director dies aged 82.

If you have not seen The Last Picture Show, I really suggest you watch it. It is a fantastic film, and they just do not make them like that anymore.

According to the NYT Obit, his life was a series of disasters and terrible decisions! I had no idea.

Last Picture Show is, indeed, superb.

Last Picture Show was incredible. I haven't seen that much of his other work but none of it really inspires me. Recommendations?

Well Mask is not at anything like the same level as the Last Picture Show, but it is still quite a good film, with quality performances from Eric Stoltz and Cher. It raises interesting issues. It is worth watching on TV.

The Cat's Meow is supposed to be pretty good, but even though it has Kisten Dunst in it, I have not seen it.
