Fuck off! The rumours are strong though. It’s the sort of bobbins move Spanos would make. Either way we have to draft a QB, so next season is going to be another write off and it’s a moot point whether it’s 17 or Brady holding the ship. I’d save the money and go with Tyrod for a year and make sure we re-sign JB, Supermel and Hunter.

This weekend I’m all in on the Ravens, Vikes, Chiefs and Seahawks

How about The Raiders for Brady? Completely new city to the NFL, new stadium.... etc etc etc.....

Playoffs :

I think all four home teams win. I think the two in the AFC (Ravens & Chiefs) cover the spread (between 8.5-9.5 points) whilst the NFC teams don't ... I see those two games (particularly Green Bay/Seattle) being close, but the favourites prevailing.

I think Niners, Ravens and Chiefs but I'll pick the Seahawks for the upset.

I think Gruden will want his own, new, QB. I can see some dealing in the Draft and them picking someone like Jacob Eason late in round 1.

24 ~ 7 Hopefully, the Chefs .. err .. the Chiefs will score a few more times before the half.

So bummed, so far every playoff game except one has disappointed me. I am still mourning the Saints loss. :x

*See what Snickers bars can do for the Chefs .. err .. Chiefs!

Great weekend of games. Surprised that Baltimore did so poorly but no one wanted to face them so that's no longer an issue. I was hoping GB would handle Seattle and they just did by a narrow margin. That Chiefs game was quite the see saw but I knew KC was not going to give up, even with three touchdowns in front of them. Great comeback. We'll see if the Titans can surprise the crowds but I don't know if lightning can strike twice. Go Niners!

Brilliant explosive offence from the Chiefs but.... can someone tell me what the fuck Bill O'Brien was on? 4th and a miniscule 1..... you're up 21-0.... you burn a time out fucking about deciding whether to for it or not... decide not to... you're averaging (at that point) 6.5 yards per carry and you don;' go for it but kick a FG instead? Jeez. And the insane fake punt whilst 24-7up, and basically gift the Chiefs a TD? Show that man the door.

And whilst we're at it - Pete Carroll.... 4th and 11 with just over three minutes to go... you're down by 5 points. You decide not to trust Russell Wilson but decide your D (which has been decidely second rate all year) has more of a chance of stopping Aaron Rodgers and giving the very same Russell Wilson less time to go and score the go ahead TD? You have three time outs and the two minute warning - and you punt the ball away? You're fucking shitting me, right? Show that man the fucking same door too.

I loved Chris Simms going off the charts about Stefanski, the new Cleveland Browns HC.

A Head Coach running his gameplan and playbook by the Analytics team before it's agreed?! WTF.

Blimey! Kuechly retiring at 28 is a surprise.

I agree Pete. I think players are acutely aware of the medium to long term risks these days. I also presume he's made enough money, even with 2 years left on his contract.

I think Kuechley goes into coaching, don't you? As the MLB at the Panthers, he was the onfield defensive co-ordinator and was trusted by Rivera to call the right audibles from what he saw on the pitch. He'd be a great loss if he walked away entirely and it's clear the love of the game still burns brightly from that emotional/difficult Instagram announcement (unlike Andrew Luck or Gronk, for instance, who seemed to almost visiibly relax and start to enjoy life after their announcements). A true great and a certain Hall Of Famer, for me.

Championship Sunday!

The Chiefs really should win at home to The Titans. They have an obscene amount of offensive weapons and come into the game on a 7 game winning streak. But....... Chris Jones (their DT run stuffer) may suit up but cannot be fully fit. That won't be so much of an issue if Kansas gets off to a flyer and limit Derek Henry's running opportunities. But they went 24 points down last week before recovering (with a lot of help from the Texans) spectacularly. If they do that again this week, I don't believe they will be able to do that wice. This Titans team is very tough and, in Henry, they have the hottest Running Back in the NFL at present. And don't underestimate the total transformation since Tannehill was installed at QB. I think this may be a fabulous game and, incredibly, I just see Tennessee winning...something like 27-24. A little snippet.... Tennessee is the 3rd team since the 1970 merger to defeat the NFL's #1 scoring defense (Patriots) and #1 scoring offense (Ravens) in the same postseason (both previous teams went on to win Super Bowl)........

I have a vested interest in the 49ers/Packers game, in that I backed SF back in last Sept at 14/1 to win the Superbowl. I've really not seen anything since then that has made me change my mind - I sometimes wish Garoppolo would dominate games more than he does but, offensively, that three headed running back hydra is what they win and lose by. And the Packers aren't a great run D, so I can see the play action working really well for them throughout. And Aaron Rodgers, as great as he is, has not been good against pressure this season - which is not usual for him. The 49ers D gets to QB's quicker than any other defence in the league.... that will be a big issue too (as it was when SF thumped the Packers in the regular season). Green Bay has got better but - match up wise, the 49ers just win all over the pitch. And in Sherman they have a CB who has played Adams really well in previous match ups too. San Francisco to win 31-10.

Chiefs by 7 or more. Rodgers gets it done in a low scoring slugfest. Don’t listen to me though.

Niners to swarm the Packers like they did before but it's not going to be a runaway like last time.

Chiefs in a slugfest.
