I've started learning a bunch of songs for a new project. Normally I copy from a lyrics source and paste them into an Open Office Document where I can edit it so I can follow it. As of last week, when I'm pasting to O.O. the lyrics are no longer reproduces in separate lines. They should be like this:
"Jumping Jack Flash"
I was born in a crossfire hurricane
And I howled at my ma in the driving rain
But it's all right now, in fact it's a gas
But it's all right
I'm Jumpin' Jack Flash, it's a gas, gas, gas
I was raised by a toothless, bearded hag
I was schooled with a strap right across my back
But it's all right now, in fact it's a gas
But it's all right
I'm Jumpin' Jack Flash, it's a gas, gas, gas
Now, the lyrics are pasted and look like prose:
D D/C# Bm Bm/AI knew a man Bojangles and he danced for you[G] [A]In worn out shoes[D] [D/C#] [Bm] [Bm/A] Silver hair, ragged shirt and baggy pants
[G] [A]That old soft shoe[G] [D] [F#] [Bm] [Bm/A]He jumped so high, hejumped so high.[E7][A]Then he lightly touched down.
This is happening on my PC and on my laptop. I've tried uninstalling Open Office, then installing the latest version, it's still happening.
Does anyone have any idea of what's happened?
Thanks in advance,
Joe.

Re: Lyrics and poetry problem
Any software that would turn "Jumpin' Jack Flash" into "Mr. Bojangles" is obviously possessed of a malevolent spirit. If Malwarebytes doesn't help, consult a priest.
But seriously... I'm no expert but I suspect it might be something to do with the way the text is formatted on the page you're copying from, rather than anything to do with Open Office. Have you tried it with other lyrics sites? For that matter, just try copying the "JJF" lyrics you posted above and pasting them into your Open Office document and see if the same thing happens.

Lyrics and poetry problem
Did you know that in Mexico, they think these are the official lyrics?
I tried telling them that you wrote it... But they dont believe me...
And all I can say is... Mexican people are scary...
