Squeeze is playing in town around my birthday this year. I wonder if seeing them now would be a bit of a letdown since the show I saw in '88 I'd rate among my best concerts ever.
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?

Great band, both East Side Story and Sweets from a Stranger are faves, the latter very much underrated

Totally agree.

But ...

I heard Glenn Tilbrook on a British radio comedy show a few years ago. I was eager to hear it. I'm a fan.

It was horrible.

Bugger off.

Big fan. Saw them at Liverpool Empire circa 1984.....but..... got the impression they had more fun in smaller venues. They seemed a bit lost.

Hmmm, Glenn's voice sounds pretty shot. I probably wouldn't mind that much if they could still put on a good show otherwise and stuck to the classic material, since their latest material just doesn't have the punch of their older stuff. But I fear I also wouldn't have much interest without Lavis or Holland, or at least Carrack, in the band.

They sound pretty great here. I think they’d be great in the right venue.

I’d recommend going.
Saw them last on ‘The Knowledge’ tour they did in 2017 and they were great. Always a good night out.
Give a shit or be a shit.

Yeah, that sounds pretty good. Honestly I would have been surprised if Difford and Tilbrook hadn't been able to find competent replacements for Lavis and Holland, etc. and put on a professional sounding show.
