Been away? What do you put on when you come back?

Been to Spain for 10 days, blisteringly hot, mosquito bites galore and glad to be home. Never take music with me when I’m away so always pleased to put something on when I get back. Don’t know why but this was the first I laid my hands on.


What would be the first music you’d put on when you’ve been away, or do you take it with you?

I'd always bring an iPod and a speaker with me when we take a break longer than a weekend.

The break from TV is refreshing and we love to relax into the evening with a glass of something nice and some favourite tunes...

I don't tend to play music much when I am away- I have never owned a cassette or CD Walkperson or any such machine.

When I am away, if I have my car, it is there where I get my music.

If I've flown anywhere I just tend to do without.

So that said, I am usually quite starved of music 'when away'.

I tend to start thinking about what I might play a few days before returning and is generally a band or artiste rather than an album.

So, perhaps, where over the first few days on returning, I might play half a dozen Black Sabbath albums.

However, there are times where, just before leaving home, I have purchased something new that I love and am desperate to play again.

So if I were returning from holiday today the first thing would be:

Depends. During road trips we listen to loads of music and some peace and quiet is the preferred modus operandi when we get back. I find air travel quite stressful and when I get home I almost always play some Little Feat/Lowell George in order to come down, figuratively speaking. And In Memory of Elizabeth Reed, of course.
