I bought that album as a fairly random purchase. No idea what to make of it, I think there's some quality there, but the vocals annoy the crap out of me.

I do like the vocals but I acknowledge he’s teetering on the edge of off-key a lot of the time!

Feeder - Love Pollution

I love this album - the last 4 tracks on it are all blissfully melodic and superbly put together.

There aren’t many albums that I consider certainties to raise my mood when needed but “Comfort in Sound” is one of them. (Godzilla excepted.)

This is the penultimate track.

Anyway, I’m going to try to bung one a day on here of random stuff (incl prog of course) that I particularly enjoyed. Tumbleweed may very well roll across the thread but that’s fine.... :D I’ll keep it going.

Starting with.....

Nicole Atkins - Maybe Tonight from her debut album Neptune City.

Yes big fan of Neptune City, I saw her back when this came out and in a few tribute shows (Petty and Dylan) shortly after.
Sadly, haven't kept up on her career the last 10 years.

yes one of my favorite FIsh solo songs.

I really like these three albums
1999: Raingods with Zippos
2001: Fellini Days
2004: Field of Crows

13th Star has its moments too.

Swedish largely instrumental band who are a bit patchy but churn out the occasional superb piece of music. I actually won a round in a Prog Cup with one of their tracks a few years ago.

Nice music and I saw them live at NEARfest but really don't listen to them.

Fucked Up - Queen of Hearts

Another band that surprisingly won a Prog Cup round for me last time around. (Not this track.)

2 versions, firstly the album track itself, then the official video release with school children providing the vocals. Great video this, doing something very unusual and inventive.

Love these guys saw them a few times in the past few years.

How so?

Beirut - Nantes

Their 1st 2 albums seemed to break new ground and Zac Condon was a music media darling for a while, but the star seems to have fizzled somewhat.

Still love those 1st 2 albums.

While Zac's first two albums are the best I like them all. No No No is their worst.
Been a fan since the beginning. I red a review before the first album came out and that Jeremy Barnes (NMH) was in the band and went to see their first public show(according to my friends who know them they played a bunch of parties and private shows prior). I was blown away by the whole sound and style of music they were playing. I've seen them 9 times since and always a good show. I've heard Zac can be a handful.

Beirut - May 2006 - First show

About a year later they played at Bowery Ballroom and half of Arcade Fire members joined them on stage with a bunch of other players (22 members in all) for a trippy encore.

Got to love a guy who has a french horn as a tatoo

I’m not ocd (that I know of!) but I did miss a day this week and my brain keeps telling me to fill the gap, so this is the 2nd one today.

Czar - Tread Softly On My Dreams

London band originally known as Tuesday’s Children - doing pop mainly. Changed name to Czar in 1970 and released just the one album before disbanding. Shame as it’s a fine album.) they apparently toured with Hendrix, Moody Blues, King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Animals, Nice, Kinks, Who, Troggs.... good company! You’d have hoped they had a future after that much exposure.

This is the opening track.

Good album and worth a mint if you have the original on vinyl in excellent nick.
