Anyone feel like more Cups?
As the prog Cup's done for this year, maybe try a 80s, 70s or older cup next? Or if you feel like something with a bit more longevity, an ongoing Premiership where we can continuously play in one style or vary the decades or styles with a regular cluster of players/voters ( a mixed Premiership).
Any other suggestions to style and format, always welcome!
Lemme hear ye......

80s Cup or Premiership, although I do wonder if the nature of an extended league format might lead to even more apathy.

Re: Cup/Premiership
80s Cup would be a hell of a challenge for me- an area where my taste probably veers farthest from the board at large- but I’d be happy to give it a go.
A pre- rock and roll cup - like 1955 and before, maybe- is probably my favorite choice but I don’t expect much support for the idea.

Like Hatz, I would be happy to play in a pre-55 cup.

Re: Cup/Premiership
I think the Premiership idea sounds interesting but it would be very risky. Firstly, it would need constant control from whoever's organising it and second, there's a heightened chance of people dropping out: people leave the boards at various times, have holidays, just get bored etc.
I'd be up for it, whatever the dates (although I know almost nothing pre '55) but I think that whoever's organising it needs to have a really good think before committing to it.

There's that of course but it wouldn't be a continuous thing from the get go, could do a few rounds every couple of months.
Since it's not too hard to do (?) It could well be two people running it at various times.
The beauty of a mixed Premiership in a that there could be a pre-60s round too.
Up to your good selves....

Mixed Premiership was what I was advocating in my suggestion on t’other thread.
A true test of one’s knowledge / repertoire.

Re: Cup/Premiership
Yes please to any Cups!
They are fun and provided an enjoyable focus.
In their usual form they are relatively short and sweet and focussed.
I am not sure how a premiership would work but keeping interest and momentum going might be more of an issue.
I certainly would be up for it but would need more detail on how it would work and what the time frame would look like.
I suppose I would prefer regular thematic cups of the usual format.
With a 'decade' cup my concern that that would be a bit of a free for all and like the original BCB cup where it needed up folk selecting stuff that would win votes rather than what they enjoyed.
By that I mean my 80s selection would include a bit of this and a bit of that including rap, house and pop (god help us!)
My fave choice would be something more focused like 80's synth music or 70s AOR
However, whatever is selected I will be more than happy - cups are great fun and Maarts always does suchna great job

I still want to do a Bizarro Cup, but I'm down with an 80's Cup.
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?

80s, 90s, or mixed of any format for me.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.
