I would argue that neither are really jazz.
However, they're both great albums that build on the jazz tradition, and these terms - jazz, jazz rock etc are just labels.

i was more dixie, although they got tangled up for awhile. jax ended up gettin bought out by pabst in texas (i think).. dixie's still around, but they changed the name now.
