"Sossity" - the one song I never liked. I will give it yet another chance.

Wipes off the beer inadvertently spat onto the screen. It's been a heck of a day.

This another track I think Steven Wilson has cleaned up too much
There needs to be some murkiness here!
.
i will not indulge this.
i will be in yer yard. with weaponry. just sayin. (damn, still need to renew my passport.)
by the way, i love ian's lyrics, i do.
Wilson has done a fantastic job with virtually everything else by Tull and others
But Benefit benefitted [groan] for an element of murkiness in places and the clean up has, for me, has removed that to its detriment
Just a personal view - I may be speaking solo.
It's when you know an album backwards and then you hear it again and think - why?
.
I’m not sure he fixed a lot of murkiness. It still sounds that way to my ears though I do hear the differences. I think there’s a certain amount of murkiness that is simply on the tapes and can’t be changed.

i get this. i just don't agree, mwhahaha.
from my perspective? i grew up music-crazy in the 70s, and i *wanted* more clarity in the midst of the nigh-constant murk.
to me... like tryin to drive on the highway with a fair amount of muddy crap on yer windshield.
that being said, i do still have a fetish for listening to youtube clips of vinyl that have snapcracklepop sounds, mwhahaha. cuz that's what i did to my albums. hey. i was young.

Ian and the boys let us down easy. Beautiful.
Sorry Charlie for quoting your organ post. The devil made me do it.

when i listen to ian play, i always think of my aforementioned brother, john. the one who turned me onto tull when i was so young. he taught me some bach on gweetar (very patiently, cuz i can't read music and i've always just sucked at it anyway). not coincidentally, he played bouree like ian.

Listening to the cd version with the extra tracks I have to say Singing All Day deserved to stay off the album although I like Bunker’s jazzy brush work.
