Records/CDs stacked up waiting to be filed away.

Postby robertff » 15 Aug 2022, 19:41

Okay, so I can remember doing this quite some time ago and it proved to be interesting to see what we’ve all been buying/procuring, whatever.

So what have you got stacked up waiting to be filed or put away along with the rest of your music? Only physical format please and no CDRs. Be interesting to see if anyone has got cassettes as there is supposed to be a revigorated market for those.

Got quite a few bits and pieces but no time to list them now, I’ll come back.

Up until last Friday there was nothing lying around as I'd spent quite a bit of time filing everything the music room I've gained as part of our recent refurbishment.

However, I popped into a local charity shop on Friday morning, and I've now got 22 new CD acquisitions to file away.

Some Supertramp, Pink Floyd, Rory Gallagher, Rage Against the Machine, Metallica, Chieftains and Harry Chapin amongst others.

I've also got the new Neil Young and Jack White LPs sitting beside the turntable which will be filed on the shelves eventually...

All my records (including cassettes and CDs in that) have been stashed away on shelves or in boxes for the last three years, although a still unplayed (don't have a functioning CD player) mint copy of Godspeed You! Black Emperor Plays Luciferian Towers has inexplicably turned up on the floor by my desk.

Never really thought f you as an In the Aeroplane Over the Sea kind of guy. Seeing that shot me right back to imdb a couple of decades ago and the thought that all those smart mouth teens might well be parents there. Ye gods

I always liked the album, aside from the overlong and dreary "Oh Comely". It's got an occasional great turn of phrase, and there's something very appealing about a singer who can't really sing giving it absolutely everything. I has a CDR of it for years, but only bought the CD a few months back, as the CDR was scratched to buggery.

CD player is buggered at the moment so the to file pile will have to wait a little longer as I was still listening to the 60 or so discs that are in it.
