I'm fine with Ferry's voice, but Sylvain sounds like a second rate impersonator. Always felt that Sylvain was all style and no substance, whether solo or with Japan

Agree about Sylvain’s voice, he seemed to model his whole persona on Ferry.

I adore Sylvian

All Japan's stuff, all his solo albums and the collaborations his done within the ambient scene when the lad keeps his gob shut.

This is a stunning album:

Digging this BJH album right now, and I've been listening to a lot of these guys lately. Christ, do I need to start a thread?

Continuing the Wishbone Ash catalogue, much, much better than the previous one. They created songs which suited the vocals this time round and always sounded so much better when they did this.

I most certainly do. How very dare you. However, as with all things in life, there is good, there is bad and there is average. Let's take prog, there's the good...Yes, Genesis, Gentle Giant, King Crimson, PFM, forget the bad for now, and the average.... Barclay James Harvest, Greenslade, Camel, bands who just don't have enough good material or imagination to challenge the big boys. However, I own albums by all the aforementioned and many by much worse, although I do draw the line at Styx

Played it last week, actually. Nice to have compilation with a bit of imagination instead of featuring the usual suspects

Think you could have put some more thought into "average prog." Camel, for instance, deserve better than that. They were godhead for at least three albums.

Casting the net about a bit, thanks to Zap Niles. Canadian band, more hard rock than prog but it’s ok if somewhat relentless and not really my cuppa.
