List A's really a story of two halves for me. I really like what I hear in tracks 1-5, a few new names for me to look into there; but the second half really loses me. List B's a lot more familiar, but not so evidently so as to strike me of cynicism, and the quality's damn solid throughout. It's tough, do I award A for introducing me to new things, or B for delivering a consistent, enjoyable list that also flows really well as a comp? Ultimately I feel I have to give it to B.

A may be a bit of a shit sandwich but the bread is very nice. And B is just too BCB.

Fuck me - sadly, something as magnificent as Pepper and co. in their '70s pomp doing 'Red Car' is lost on the BCB riff raff, A.
While B has a few tracks I enjoy, it doesn't really excite me much, to be honest. A hits and misses a bit, but when it hits it hits hard.

Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

A. A ragtag selection but for me the more satisfying.

A. It's not entirely my thing in anyway whatsoever, but I like the fact they've gone for a bit of variety and some lesser-known names. B isn't bad in the context of this cup so far, but it's all very staid stamped-and-approved stuff. Good John & Beverly Martyn song though.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

The Art Pepper track is cool as fuck. A very likeable list.

B

is marred by an annoying Go-Betweens track but apart from that it reaches a bit deeper or something.
