Carlsson simply failed to surmount all obstacles.

Just check out the number of prog goons and 'mates' that voted against me.
Is the said competitor serious?

I would say that is a little unfair IF you genuinely had no idea whose list it was as in my case I certainly had no idea who chose to post a Fall mini-LP.

If you'd only tipped me off C, I'd have voted for you. As it is, The Fall tick no boxes for me, so A won by default. I don't fancy his chances in the next round. though.

Isn't the idea to vote for the songs and the strength of the lists not the poster whoever it is though?

Man, I'd sure as hell be happy. This is the only bye in the damn tournament!
Indeed, there is the point that C never gets into the second round; the contestant in question believed there was block voting, hence the displeasure. Hard to prove, that one...
I think this is an absolutely scandalous accusation, and we should be told who this whinging gutterfuck is. How dare he slander another contestant with absolutely no evidence.
We need to be told who this arsehole is immediately, and he needs to be excluded from the cup.I have never witnessed such poor sportsmanship in my life.
Name him and shame him Andrew. Immediately
yes name him and shame him for the good of the cup!!!
You don't like me...do you?

I'm not too sure I know what the accusation is here. What exactly is "block voting"? And it doesn't follow that C is being accused of being involved in it, whatever it is. Andrew was perhaps a little indiscrete in revealing a private winge but I shouldn't think he would have expected the fucking ridiculous over-reaction it's getting.

I don't understand what block voting is either.

I think it infers that all the prog goons (of which I am one) would get together and vote for C en masse, it being so obviously C's list. But if we wanted to do that sort of thing we could just PM each other when our lists turn up. Total nonsense.

Re: BCB Cup 2013 - First Round - Match 26 - C takes a Fall!
Am I understanding this correctly?
List A wins and is 'unhappy' because the losing list B allegedly benefited from 'block voting'? What would lister A like as a sanction? The result overturned?
Any block voting would have had Soundchaser and never ever voting for A and Coan, Magilla and pb voting on the same side for B. As a means of cheating its not exactly Lance Armstrong territory.
This is almost as ridiculous as the Yellowjacket spat

I think the concerns were raised during, not after the match.

Have just read through all the votes and can understand where A was coming from to be honest. Although it was entirely coincidental, a lot of people do correctly mention Carlsson by name which is very unusual in the cup, if not surprising given how obvious it was that it was him. On the other hand, most of them did vote against him.
Even so, I think everyone is rather overreacting to A privately expressing those concerns.

Re: BCB Cup 2013 - First Round - Match 26 - C takes a Fall!
Even if there was block voting, who cares? As I said earlier, I suspect that some PM'ing goes on lobbying for votes. I've gotten a few myself, though admittedly not in recent years. But seriously - what does it matter? It's a message board diversion with no prize beyond bragging rights. Anyone who'd cheat probably needs the win more than I do anyhow.
Folks need to lighten up. If the contest were actually meaningful and decided on good taste alone, I'd win every year instead of being vanquished by the Bjork-tolerant block.
