Johnny Carson Was The King Of Late Night

..and why not?

Johnny Carson Was The King Of Late Night

Postby yellowjacket » 17 May 2012, 00:45

I just watched a fascinating Bio on Johnny Carson's run on the Tonight Show. What a stunning host he was. If you do not know much about Johnny's career it is worth looking into. He could make you a star by just allowing you to be on his show! :o
How would you like to be remembered? Oh I don't know. I suppose if we are remembered as a great little rock and roll band it would be fine.........

And Brian Wilson in turn made JC a star by naming a song after him on (I think) 15 Big Ones...

Carson was definitely great and very funny, and the very definition of "Tonight Show".

I still haven't checked out Jack Paar, though. Might like him!

Someone must have slandered Josef K., for one morning, without having done anything truly wrong, he was killed by a Predator drone.

Steve Allen and Jack Paar were great I'm betting. Before my time though and only seen clips on doc shows.
But Carson yeah. Only Letterman comes close otherwise.
Leno, Conan and those others suck shit. Well, the guy after Letterman who talks to the gay skeleton all night, he's kind of funny.
Sweet potato ya got it, apple ya ain't.

There's a good bio of Paar they show on PBS once in awhile.
