FILM CLUB - The Long Goodbye December

..and why not?

Sorry for the holdup, gang. I won't have a chance re-acquaint myself with Primer until later in the week.

It's available here in the U.K.: http://www.lovefilm.com/film/Primer/54780/

and here in the U.S.: http://www.netflix.com/Movie/Primer/600 ... kid=222336

Is it too soon to start a discussion over the weekend?

Can we do it the weekend after -just to give people a bit more time to watch it?

I'll start publicising it.

Appropriately enough given the nature of the film, I actually watched it six months ago.

Sorry, I've been a bit remiss, what with the BCB Cup and all that. Anyway, Moddie's PM'd me to say that I'm up next with The Man Who Fell To Earth, which I hope to watch on Sunday night. If you haven't seen it yet, you're in for a treat, as it's an utter feast for the imagination.

Did the Primer discussion just fizzle out, then? Or did I miss it on another thread?

Well it began, but it suffered from a slight lack of response.
There's nothing to stop people adding to the thread though.

Yeah I saw that. That was the fizzling out I was talking about. Shame, I was hoping someone could explain it to me.

Ok, it's me!

Coming up, the 1968 classic 'The Swimmer'. Don't miss out.

I'm hoping to watch it in the next few days and post my thoughts next week. Please join me!
Of course, I was mostly stoned at the time.

You should start another thread. I've seen this twice and really enjoyed it. I'll try and get hold of the DVD in time for the discussion.

Cool, I found my DVD of it today, so should find time to watch it towards the weekend and will start a thread up. Apologies for the slight delay!

I'm way behind on this as I'm currently lodging with my girl as we await our new place being finished. One of the reasons I didn't participate in the best films poll. Will hopefully catch up when all settles down in a few months. I bought this movie for this thread (saw it a long time ago) so will definitely get round to it.
