It is a nice thing for him to do isn't it? I felt a lump in my throat when i was explaining to my wife how and why my name was on the sleeve, and i had asked him to sign it and he had......... I'm just so very grateful and excited and proud for him.
If I jerk- the handle jerk- the handle you'll thrill me and thrill me

Bloody hell, I'd missed the dedication on the back cover. Lovely touch Conny.
EDIT: Listening now.

Re: 20 hard copys of Olivetti's new album, Treibholz, all go
I played it twice today. I think it's probably your best album yet.
I especially liked the eerie, almost malevolent, atmosphere of "Toys For Girls". "Suspended Re-Activation" was another highlight, especially the way the disembodied-sounding choir voices come at you from the edges of the mix (and it's a great album closer- that little ambient sample at the very end is genius). And the short piece, "Interlude", is a great change-of-pace, and it sounds like it was influenced by mid-period Cluster (Grosses Wasser, Curiosum)... always a good thing in my book. There are some amazing sounds throughout, the recording itself is totally pro, and the deep bass of "What's The Title?" caused the cat to rouse himself from his nap and stare at the speaker in a puzzled manner. His ears were twisting around like little antennae.
Good job once again.

Picked up my copy finally this afternoon from the post office! Long Distance Duck dropped it there because my post box was flooded from the last few days' rain (thanks duck!).
Cheers for the dedication, makes it even more special- going to listen tonight before I go to sleep!

makes me happy to hear!
well, what can I say, I've been on this board since 2003, and the friendship has increased every year, and with the last album, moToRik, I've got some very nice feedback from a lot of people on this board. That means a lot to me. So I guess it was payback time!

Thank you Tony! You are obviously a man of many word, and I like it, every one of them
Its really interesting to read others thoughts about your work, to see how others respond to your music and what reference they put to some of the tracks. And in your case I can only agree! I'm glad you like the production, was a bit worried about that one this time. Its been recorded, mixed and mastered in one for me totally new program, Proppellerheads Record. Looks like I did the right thing!
And I agree its my best album so far.
the production and song writing is more together than previous album.
nice that you appreaciate the little ambient sample at the end of the album. All recorded by me. The helicopter is from my balcony and the voice is from my bedroom window. Some sport fan was shouting next door during some football game, or something

Listened to it last night. Not quite my usual thing as the prog bretheren will already know but listened all the way through and enjoyed it. I can see I will have to get a little deeper into this electronic/ambient stuff. Will give it some more play.
Very well done Conny, may which ever forces, you want to be with you, be with you.
Great cover too.

I really appreciate that you take your time and listen to it regardless that its not your thing.
many thanks!

Re: 20 hard copys of Olivetti's new album, Treibholz, all go
Well, I'm playing it again now, for the third time.
My immediate thought on hearing the first track was 'Ultramarine'. Very much the same kind of vibe -- 'organic' in its feel. The other thing that grabbed me was that there's always something going on that's unexpected, those little breaths, tweets and samples so delicately poised in the background. And as the album progresses, the change of mood from track to track continuously maintains the interest (track 3 is a great example -- a real change of mood but it still fits in with the album). The production is great too -- really booms out of the speakers.
I'll be back with more thoughts later!

Haven't got mine yet, but judging by the props it's getting it'll be well worth waiting for
I'm well looking forward to it.
