Chester 17/11 - First Big Weekend of the Winter

Postby Django » 03 Sep 2007, 09:15

Isn't it about time we got together again for a North West Jolly Up?

And why not consider Chester as a venue?!

Chester! Historic walled city from ancient times!

Chester! Only 35 minutes from Liverpool! And a bit further from Manchester!

Chester! A hive of quaint sidestreets, alleys and, indeed, ginnels!

Chester! Home to the Chester Jets basketball team!

Chester! Site of the controversial "Glass Slug" proposed municipal building!

Chester! A shoppers paradise, as it contains shops, which sell items, including, but not limited to, periodicals, clothing and foodstuffs!

Chester. A new way of being (pissed).

What do you say?

It's "no", isn't it? :|

You'd have to make sure it didn't coincide with Chester Races - we wouldn't want to be hampered by another group of drunks!

Chester Races are all finished by November. I wouldn't dream of going out when they are on, it's a nightmare.

It doesn't have to be Chester. Liverpool, Manchester, whatever.....

We, my friends, are living the dream.

Dates? I was thinking the end of the month so those who may have been to Barca have had a little time for their finances to recover.

Weav,
I should be OK after 5/11/2007 (end of a long session of birthdays). Should I ask Wainers, the Chester CAMRA rep for advice, or leave it to you, the 'lightweight' Champ, to sort out some real ale pubs?

Could you book The Prof in the hostel if he decides to come?

You do know, don't you, that I have outstayed you at every North West Jolly bar that first one I came to? Just sayin', like...

I'm confident with my choice of boozers, but I'm open to any input. Tell Wainers I was thinking Harkers and Telfords, I know he'll approve.

I don't work at the hostel anymore, but I could have a word. I could certainly get him into the Night Shelter. As long as he becomes somebody's bitch as soon as he gets there, he should be safe.

I can put people up, by the way. There is a double bed, a sofa and a whole lotta floor for whoever wants it.

Excellent, Kev, looking forward to meeting you. I can't imagine I'll take to you, but I promise to give it my best shot.

In other news, the double bed is now bagsied.

What about dates then? How is Nov 24th for everybody?

Django sure has his finger on the pulse in Chester. Yes, a lot of people have called him an 'in' Cestrian. I think that's how you spell it.

Will someone make a freakin' decision regarding the date? Some have to travel distance and book time off work etc.

Oh. not for me; that bloke who played bass in the Particle Accelerators when their proper bassist was off with toothache that time is doing a guest spot at the St Helens Cat Protection League Bring and Buy sale on the 17th... he's reading some of his poems, apparently.

Put myself and Miss Sweden down as a "maybe", with a foot on the good side of "will happen".
