Anaheim / LA ... anyone around Sat 7th April?

Events people say they're coming to until a day or so before the event.

That was a massive under estimate, partly because speed limits are so low and partly because we took a much more scenic route than was really necessary (sat nav trouble). It must have taken us at least 4 hours. But some great views supported by my epic Spotify playlist, which none of the family appreciated.

What was it, about three songs?

Supper's Ready
Long Piece No. 3
Incantations

Oh we're here! Time flies!

Ha! It’s not all Prog. Under The Milky Way followed Everybody Wants To Rule The World. Which was great.

I will aim to arrive at the pub between 11am and noon. I hope some of you can make it!

Oh yeah! It's leaving the pub that will be the problem.

Which is why I probably can't make it. Have fun, and sorry to miss you!

His family would've thrown him down one of the cliffs off Hwy 1 by Cambria halfway through the first song.

At least it's kinda closer to your work than some of the places we go.

Note that there's another Olde Ship (in Santa Ana) too.

I have now experienced the LA traffic.

Absolutely horrendously horrendous, as in terrible. Christ I’m not looking forward to driving across town...

Welcome to our world.

I drive a minimum of two hours a day when I work. One hour there, one hour back. I'm about to leave now, actually.

I shudder to think of how long it's going to take me to get back to my place on Saturday night...

:D

As I mentioned on Facebook, puts a whole new perspective on Oakland to San Francisco, doesn't it?

Driving a car with poor lights after dark down a 4 or 5 lane highway (101) with a headache and almost no petrol left with cars passing on both sides at 60 to 70 mph was one of the most terrifying things I’ve ever done.

Not helped by having fallen out with my wife because she kept driving so far right the wheels were often on or beyond the white line. What’s that bit of road for anyway?

So what's going on tonight? I won't actually be IN Santa Monica, but this evening I will be as close to it as I'll get in the time you're here - maybe a 20 minute drive away.

No worries if not, but Friday and Saturday appear to be out, so...

Just now, did you feel that earthquake where you were? They don't happen too often, but that's another fun thing about living in California. It can be a little unsettling.
