Liverpool JU - Sloop Edition - Friday 24th June

Postby Django » 28 Feb 2011, 15:54

I've mentioned this on the other thread, but I thought I'd give it its own thread to make it a bit more eye-catching.

Sloop is going to be travelling all over the Glorious North to catch up with people, but if we wanted to do a larger, groupier Jolly Up, our options are a bit limited because he is only here for a week and he arrives and leaves on a saturday - saturday being the traditional day of jollying. So, I was wondering about everyone's availability for Sunday 19th June, Liverpool or Manchester? (Anyone considering saying they can't make it because they have work on Monday morning needs to MAN UP - us shift workers have been turning into work the sunday after a jolly, bleary-eyed and still slightly pissed, for years!)

Alternatively, what would people make of a Friday night jolly - Friday 24th June? Again, Liverpool or Manchester?

Nah, fuck him, he's a dick. Staying up North with his pseudo Northern ways. He probably worships the Beatles or some such other hoary old Northern toss like MC Tunes. Fucked if I'm wasting a weekend with the likes of you wankers.

Have you considered that you could stay over at your boyfriend's place in Speke? The two of you could be back in bed in plenty of time to spend the early hours french-kissing and listening to his collection of tired blues-rock cliches.

I'd try and do either - if the Sunday one was an early kick off that would probably be preferable for me but happy to go with the flow, naturally I would prefer Manchester as I could get there quicker but whatever everybody else wants is fine.

I could teach 'em how to anal chug, California style.

Might bring some much needed freshness to their lovemaking.

I consider the comments to MAN UP to be very offensive, I don't care if it was meant jokingly, that's the way I choose to look at it. Surely my over-sensitivity and wilful misreading in this area should have been considered before such a highly offensive contribution?

Anyway, I play fives on Sunday nights....and I'm fucked if I'm going in to work hung over. Some of us actually work when we're at work, you know.

I did consider that but then I realised that the " jolly" up would consist of you and sloop talking about comics, dull as ditchwater backpack indie boy hip hop and power poop. Not worth a beer let alone £60 spunked on a train ticket.

...not to mention all those dreadful Wounded Vole-type bands that Graham is so fond of

I fucking knew there'd be a downside to Sloop visiting :(

Don't diss the Vole dude. I'm really looking forward to the next magnum opus.
The real downside is the achingly unfunny homosexual allusions that frankly, belong in a Jim Davidson pantomime. I expected better from Django but not a Californian.

In May and June, actually. And my hayfever is VERY bad. You can't imagine how horrid it is until you've experienced it.

The purest form of intimate expression between two people (or more).
