Underwhelmed by the new three. Never saw the fuss about the Chills. Maybe it helps if you're from that part of the world, I dunno. The Strawbs is not my thing, real ale, beards and dirty fingernails. Yuk. Elsewhere there's some good stuff but some funny choices by BCB artists. Jenny Ondioline feels as familar as, say, the Buzzcocks.

I'm all for silly voices but coulda done without the chipmunk vocals on the Joe Meek one but it sounded quite nice. That Weeknd tune is like something Nick Grimshaw would play. That's a superior Funkadelic tune and the Suede one is a beaut. I was thinking about voting for this but then I played that halestrom tune which made me doubt the entire thing but then I remembered Melody by Serge and thought "what the hell".

A's new ones are better than B's, despite the Meek. That Weeknd track is awful! Everything I hate about modern music all in one track.

I really liked elements of A last time out but the additions haven’t helped- getting some whiffs of Prog Corner. I also had some misgivings over B - despite some clear belters in the mix. It’s got sound pop instincts at its core, despite some rawk upholstery, and wins this with something to spare.

Neither list really grab me with their new three. Pharoah Sanders is very good (even though that wouldn't be one of my favourites, but always good to hear Leon Thomas on vocals). The Strawbs okay but a little dull, The Chills track passed me by. As for B, Meek is a fascinating curio but not something I'd choose to listen to, I agree with Hatz about The Weeknd - very bland. The Modern Eon track is a very smart pick though, always liked that one.

Overall there's probably slightly less things I'd skip on A and I love the Farino track.

I was about to launch a spirited defence of "Can't Feel My Face" and The Weeknd in general, but I doubt it's worthy of my time here

I absolutely adore that song (the whole album it's off really) and it enhances an already good B nicely

Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

These were two of the weakest lists, in my view, boring Q magazine quality selections. A hasn't really upped its game any.

B's new selections start off with an absolute stinker, but I love that Joe Meek track, and the Modern Eon is much more my cup of tea, despite it not being a particularly great slice of post-punk. Reminds me of a lesser Siglo xx, but a lesser Siglo xx is better than most of A.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

A tough call to begin with. A was uninspiring and safe in round one, B was a little too wild and woolly. The additions don't exactly get me excited either: I always perk up when I see Pharaoh Sanders' name but that's a pretty odd and underwhelming choice, while The Chills do have some good songs but this isn't one of them. I like the Strawbs.
On B, The Weeknd really plummeted after the promising first releases and this is dull chart fodder. Joe Meek is an uninteresting footnote too, though again they sort it out with the last song.

I think B gets it for being bolder.

I like where both of these lists are coming from, a mix of stuff i like with only a few that are just ok or not my thing. For overall consistency i'm going with A.

I'm not overly fond of A's three additions but the initial eight are largely fabulous (and I must take issue with Penk's dismissal of the wonderful proto-punk from Robert Calvert). B has some personal favourites too but A is too strong to ignore.
