Neither of these are what I would consider prog, even by 'broad church' standards, but I am the guy who's used Miles thrice now in these, so maybe I'm not one to talk.

A is a lot of fun, but the guitar jam could stand to be a bit shorter and it really doesn't go anywhere new after the first few minutes. Since I've always had a some what ambivalent relationship with the Grateful Dead, it's good to be reminded that there were a lot of B-level Dead-influenced bands running around from pretty early. These guys are decent but they're no Dead. They're also not a prog band by any stretch of the imagination.

B meanders too but is more engaging. Yes, the arrangement's a bit overdramatic, but it at least gives it more variation. And it's a good song. By a singer/songwriter. Who is also not prog.

I enjoy both of these as they are something a bit different and easily qualify as broad church prog - A has a long acid guitar break and i think B has some mellotron in the arrangement plus they both clock in at 7 minutes. I think A takes this by a whisker.

i enjoyed both as well. the first track has a lovely psych vibe and gweetar. kinda airplane-y. nice.

the second, the guy's vocal didn't blow me away, but i loved everything else about it, strummery, mellllllotron, backing vocals with a touch of epic.

both good. oh, and the very last thing *i* care about is any and all definitions of prog, mwhaha. the question for me always comes down to is it good?

an edge to B. has a tad more me-things inside.

Ill Wind - nice. Very nice.

As kath states - there's a nice psychedelic Airplane vibe going on there.

Some tasty cosmic guitar man. A nice solo but perhaps a tad long for the non-axe people amongst us.

The fade and return was a bit disconcerting but generally an enjoyable track that I'd be happy to hear again.

I saw Keith Christmas on the John Peel Show around this time (1971). Sadly he didn't leave much of an impression and I didn't explore or investigate further.

However, I am enjoying this track very much and I love the mellotron.

I recall the Mighty Baby lads backed him on one of his albums which I almost bought at the time for that reason.

I've just looked and it's being playing for almost five minutes and I've had enough.

A close match but I am going for

Looking at Wikipedia I realise I saw Keith Christmas at the Beckenham Bowie Festival in 2019, a few bus stops away from me. He was excellent. The track here is OK, and the wiggy psychedelia of A left me a bit cold I am afraid.

A- Nice Airplane/Dead vibe - two singers and some nice jam sessions.

B- Nice British Folk.

Not sure I would call either prog but it fits

A is more my style

I like Ill Wind, but I think they have better material than this, and that guitar solo seems to be variations of the same lick over and over again.

B has a nice, atmospheric vibe and I like the mellotrons and choral vocals.

A is interesting, but I would like it better without the aimless wig-out in the middle.

B is more folk than prog, sure, but it's very nice indeed, one of many highlights on this fine compilation

B washes over you in a sea of mediocre nothingness. Its unpleasantly forgettable.
A is not much better but at least is slightly less forgettable.

Enjoyed both of these well enough but have a little more enthusiasm for B with it's mellotrons and folky feel

Well, a bit underwhelmed by both - Ill Wind's guitar section didn't develop enough and Keith was very soporific.

Too soporific.
