A has got a bit more life in it than B.

I found B a little tedious and I wasn't keen on the women's voice.

I found A much more appealing with some nice instrumentation and pleasant harmonies.

The flute seals it

So, A has it

A has it

B

Bothe were good songs, but on balance I preferred B

More hippie shite!

A is at least a strong performance and not a bad song. B just sort of floats there for a while and then flies away having left no discernible impression.

B is cutesy, even if that sinister bend in the vocal gives me the willies.
A is genteel on the Gene Clark-spectrum and even if it's not impacting on me than he did, at least it's cool.

Medieval nonsense or flute monstrosity?
Pass the codpiece.

Ah, Barbara Gaskin's voice!! B is utterly charming, arguably the best track off their three albums

A feels like it's about to break into a song I already know but doesn't. And it's a full minute longer than needs be.
B seems like something that plays in a movie before the whole village is slaughtered and isn't really the type of thing I would listen to, and yet...

B
You read that in a book, didn't you?!

Gary Near, Gary Farr, wherever you are, I believe that the heart does go on. More summery sounding light-psyche folk. Hmm, I quite like this one, I think, it's got a bit of body to it. The chorus is a bit clunky, it didn't need that. And is that flute, or is it pan-pipes? We need to be told. Yeah, it's nay bad.

B Sounds like Comus on horlicks. It's quite pleasant, but you kind of expect it to break into something freakier, whereas it's just pretty with an occasionally strained vocal. Yet it has a charm, and it feels closer to my kinda thing. The cello and flute combo is lovely.

Good tie, but B just nicks it.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

Interesting match. Both of these have things i like about them without being totally my bag, and i would have liked to vote for both. In the end i think A is more my thing. I wonder if he's related to Jamie Farr...

He's British and actually born where I currently reside, in Worthing.

He does have a famous relative however. He is the son of Tommy Farr, who fought Joe Louis for the world heavyweight title at Yankee Stadium and lost on a controversial points decision, which gave the fight by a wide margin to Louis, despite neutrals thinking Farr had done enough to win. Apparently the 50,000 crowd booed when the decision was announced.

I believe they started booing again when this result was announced :D
