A is marvelous.

Just no, B. Just no.

B

Not brilliant, but I liked it better of the two songs.

Callier sounded like blues to me but I am not splitting hairs and folk is a broad church.

A good powerful voice with some nice picking

I enjoyed B - it bopped along nicely.

Good voices too.

I enjoyed B more

So, B has it

B has it

I feared the worst of A, after suffering badly in the Taste Police Wars where I was subjected to Callier's preposterous soul pomposity with some of the worst lyrics ever delivered by a human. This is certainly on the blues side of the tracks, but I can cope with that so long as its not electric and doesn't have too many sustained drawn out vowel-howls. Not massively original, and I don't think it would claim to be, but it is listenable.

Ack, hollerin and roisterin' country. My muscles have all contracted, and my spine is about to shatter. Not at all for me.

Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

(too much stomping, whooping and hollering in B for me)

Nina Simone's wondrous version of this song with her trio has been a favourite for more than half a century, and this version suffers in comparison. Nina's swings like a lump hammer. I suppose that Mr Callier's performance better expresses the sentiments of the song, but it dragged for me. 5 / 10

Love the dogs, and enjoyed the track before the singing, or hollering as I believe the technical term is, started. But it had a lot of life in it. 5 / 10

Good match. I enjoyed both of these in their own way, although it's A i'm more likely to come back to more often.

If it's good enough for Darkbess_ Fish, it's good enough for me.

For some reason I forgot to vote in this tie. I would have gone for A, so gld my carelessess didn't affect the result.
