William Onyeabor is the biggest name to come from the whole African reissue scene, but to be honest this is pretty tatty and amateurish, one of those things where you can tell they've gone for a serious production despite having neither the resources nor the time. There are much better things out there if you want a) African grooves or b) William Onyeabor (I really like 'Fantastic Man', but that's from the '80s I think).
I lose interest in the Stones around the turn of the decade, but there was still time for Jagger to do this one (though I believe he laid down the vocal a couple of years earlier), and it's a sleazy, sneery smash.

Two good tracks. I like B but have my issues with it, but there's no denying it's a great sounding record. A is quite long, but it just sounds so nice the time doesn't become a problem for me at all. Its mixing sounds is still very appealing, so...

William Onyeabor is “interesting” rather than “good”, I find. Crate digging doesn’t always produce gold. No matter how many times Memo comes up in Cups - and it has done many times - I still can’t resist its sleazy evil thrills. Glorious.

I remember the little push Oneyabor got a while back and delved into his ruff 'n tumble world of minimalist funk and r&b and liked it a lot.
B reminded me of Mink Deville. The vibe is good, the song ain't.
