Well done Campbell, you played a blinder...although you got a bit lucky in your match with Fange who picked a better track in your tie!

Congratulations Ted. The Subway Sect selection means you can choose not to read that in a sarcastic tone of voice, if you wish.

But thank God that's over, and we can finally put the decade that taste forgot well behind us. Right?

Hey! Finally, after God knows how many attempts and a few close run things, won one of these. After finishing literally rock bottom in the 90s Cup, whodathunk it. Cheers to Maarts - organised excellently as always. I thought in general the standard was strong throughout - even though some of the more outre selections lost me - and the final was really so. I’d have probably voted for a few picks over mine if I’d not had a vested interest! Anyway, for those interested, this was the full list:

Idris Muhammad, Could Heaven Ever Be Like This
Brian Eno, Dead Finks Dont Talk
David Crosby, Laughing
Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, I Don’t Blame You At All
Talking Heads, Cities
Big Star, Feel
Allen Toussaint, Last Train
John & Beverley Martin, Auntie Aviator

Sonic’s Rendesvous Band, City Slang
Eddie Kendricks, Girl You Need A Change Of Mind
Shuggie Otis, Aht Uh Mi Hed
Subway Sect, Ambition

Nicely done, Ted!
Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

Thanks all, I think I’ll do a lap of honour in the living room. Very quietly, though, so I don’t wake the lad.

Here was my full list; only one loss the whole way through (and to our champ in the end so no qualms at all). Still astonished by that, as I thought I took a few chances with the jazz, and not too many big names or singles.

Group stage
1. Amon Düül II - Wolf City
2. Steel Pulse - Soldiers
3. Funkadelic - Can You Get To That
4. Sun Ra - Where Pathways Meet
5. Michael Chapman - Soulful Lady
6. Ben E. King - Supernatural Thing
7. The Undisputed Truth - Smiling Faces Sometimes
8. The O'Jays - Ship Ahoy

Finals
1. Patti Jo - Make Me Believe In You
2. Faust - Jennifer
3. Blue Mitchell - Soul Turn Around
4. The Equals - Black Skin Blue Eyed Boys

The best list won :o

Congrats to Ted, about fucking time :)

Fabulous to see such a thourough defeat for old BCB too 8-)

And tough on Loki, the Bowie should’ve won and The Dan was a brave choice that deserved better.

Better luck next time fangey, you picked too many white boys with guitars I reckon.

What are you talking about? I'm not saying it was a conservative list, but he didn't pick a single track released in the last 35 years.
