I don't see why Loki can't play. It's done on a league table format isn't it?

of course, i want loki to play (and i have nowt against andy hope, whoever the fucque he is)... but two things...

1. TCE is the poobah. if he wants to cut it off somewhere, well, he's the one dealin with it. of course, i have no clue about how these things run in real life, factors of even numbers or twos or fours or or... ackkkk.

and

2. whoda's the math person. i refuse to take part in any math discussions of any sort.

never/ever wrote:In a nutshell, this is how it works:

You make a list of 10 songs, prog, progressive, whatever. Rules for all that are still being eked out.
Per list PB will draw one song against a song from another list. We vote on that poll.
When voting closes, the submitter of the winning song gets 2 points, the loser 0. These points will all be tallied up and shown on the Prog Premiership Ladder.
At the end, the overall winner will be crowned King of Prog. The loser will be relegated to the Realm of the Cloth-Eared.

Well, the 10-song list was back when we were only 10 participating. Should we be sending 17-18 songs now instead?

And who do we have to send the lists to?

aww, loki. ya wanna take my spot this time? i played last year. i got to second place. this is a miracle not likely to be repeated.

Aw, such a nice girl. I couldn't do that to ya. I wouldn't get to see you compete! It wouldn't be a Prog Cup without you.

We'll see what our leader has to say. :)

Thanx, n/e! Glad to be aboard.

I'm a little wary of this Premiership thing, tho - haven't done it before. Song against song? Yikes!

The Cruiser, Andy Hope? And Clive Gash isn't exactly known for his prog sympathies.

Still, I'm not running it...I just thought of it! Glad to see this idea took off :D.

Yes - that is key.

Last year some voted against tracks that they didn't consider 'prog'

We need to consider a broader 'Prog Corner' definition perhaps....?

Can we sort this guys and dolls?

Yes can we?

That other character would be me, dear Richard.... ;)
I call myself the Cruiser because I'll be on the Cruise To the Edge next week and will have to compete and vote from there.

Difficult, I'd have thought: one persons broad church prog is another persons load of old bollocks. My original idea was that competitors submit songs that they think might appeal to like minded prog fans, irrespective of whether it's actually prog. It's a risk how far you stray away from prog, because you risk losing votes. I'd say, choose what you want, but keep in mind who your target audience is. When the list is closed, the things I'd like to know is how many songs I need to submit and is there a restriction on the amount of songs you can choose from any particular year, or decade? I'm not saying I want to choose everything from 1972, but have I got that option ;) ?

 Whoops, better scrub that idea then, we can't go barring the brethren now, can we.

Oh and have a great time, I'll look forward to reading about it and seeing your pics.
