Two good lists... I've used several before... I seem to recall the Sidewinder...
I go with B Rex Garvin and the Undertones!

B's new five are probably a little bit better but A has got more moves overall

Re: BCB Cup 2013 - Round 3 - Match 1
I guess A's inclusion of that Los Amaya track makes me want to keep it around a little longer. Otherwise these lists seem about a tie for me, some really strong stuff, but a few missteps too. A tough one.
Re: BCB Cup 2013 - Round 3 - Match 1
For those that say the cup is declining in quality, I've got to say I think that's wrong. This is the second tie today where I've been seriously impressed by the quality. I think part of that is after being on the site so long we've all been influenced by each others tastes and there are many tracks that are known to people through individual posters extolling them on BCB. We've learnt to separate the wheat from the chafe. But that is probably also why it's becoming harder to identify individual identities of lists because we're all taking good things from each other.
The only negative thing I can really say about A is that there's a slight air of calculation about it, it avoids going into the kind of poppier waters that may not be critically approved.
You can't accuse B of that, it picks Visage for a start, something I suspect A wouldn't do. It's introduced to me to a few things I didn't know too like that Jim O' Rourke track which I really like. Overall I probably prefer its mix and breadth to A, but I also can't ignore the sheer quality of what A picks.
So this is very tough indeed.
A with sincere apologies to B.

Re: BCB Cup 2013 - Round 3 - Match 1
Two strong lists, but despite A's inclusion off goddamned Joni Mitchell, and B's use of a few great New Orleans tracks (I'm like the Hawk Harrelson of Cup voting), I've gotta give the slightest edge to A.

A continues to speak my language AND acknowledges that there was music before the 60s. That Mills Brothers track is the jam.
Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

No that was Davey. I said lists are getting more samey, which they are.

Grrrr Pink Frost again, it is one of my favourite songs of all time, but come on people, its been used to death, as has Everybodys Happy Nowdays plus B has a great Association track and takes a few more chances.
