From what I've seen in the last 3 months I will place Bristol along Liverpool and Glasgow as my favorite cities. Norwich was nice but unfortunately didn't spend that much time there. And Stoke is Stoke, there's nothing quite like it.

But you're talking about a British supermarket's take on Polish cuisine. Get yourself to a proper Polski sklep an feast your eyes on the myriad cold cuts.
Get yourself to Poland and try there proper meat dishes! Delicious, the rest they can keep to themselves.

I think he's talking about polish supermarkets in the UK. Maybe the range of fresh meat is better over there of course.

One thing that does get my goat, though, is Polish, Lithuanian or Turkish bottled water, all of which I regularly see. Drink local water. Save the fucking planet!
True but it's the same shit you get in the supermarkets, just a wider variety of Polish foods.

The processed meats and day to day stuff are the same which is what G and I are on about. It's the same quality you get in the Tesco aisle, just more variety. The deli counters are different but that's not what G was on about. He's on about people picking Polish mayo over Hellmans.

That's simply not true, round our way, anyway. The deli counters in the Polski Skleps are spectacular.
Just to be clear I wasn't talking about a specialised deli, but processed stuff that seems to clog up all the shelves at my local co-op

What about if you said this about Indian food "clogging up all the shelves"??

Coventry – never been
Swansea – never been
Oxford – never been
Norwich – never been
Cambridge – never been
Stoke – never been
Bradford – never been
Wakefield – never been
Bristol – never been
Cardiff – never been
Bournemouth – never been
Wolverhampton – never been
Sunderland – a dump
Reading – know quite well. I quite like it actually. I love Silchester and its Roman town.
Preston – not been since I was a kid but I remember it being nice
Plymouth – passed through it once I’m sure. My wife used to live there.
York – I spent a night there once when the train I was on broke down. York Minster all lit up at night in the pouring rain – beautiful
Peterborough – the station bar is as far as I’ve ventured
Edinburgh – place of my birth and studies. I have mixed feelings about it.
Newcastle – I used to go there a lot in the 1980s. I love the stotties!
Leeds – been a couple of times, didn’t make any particular impression on me
Belfast – liked it a lot – far more than Dublin, which I found a bit snooty
Derby – passed through; it was raining
Nottingham – been there but all I remember is the station.
Leicester – been there a few times. It’s a bit of a dump.
Sheffield – saw it through the steamy window of a bus once. It was raining
Hull – I went there once – to the ferry terminal and out again. Raining.
Portsmouth – can’t remember much about it but I remember liking it
Southampton – I think I went there once to get a ferry to the Isle of Wight
Birmingham – went there once to see a Dylan show. Didn’t like it very much.
Manchester – I lived in the Crescents in Hulme for a spell, but didn’t ever run into Nico or Alain Delon. I visit regularly. It’s not a city of grand vistas – you have to zoom in a little to appreciate it properly, I find. I agree with what Nick says about the architecture. I’m not much of a pubgoer but it has a bar I really like (Hare and Hounds).
Liverpool – I wandered round the town centre for a couple of hours on my way to Manchester last year. I liked it – a bit like Glasgow or the glaring omission that is Dundee
Glasgow – I don’t know it well on a going-out basis. My mum grew up in Denham Street and until recently I still had relatives in Possilpark. So that’s the part of Glasgow I know, mainly. And the Sarry Heid!
Brighton – I lived there for a while and have really fond memories of it. I worked for a clairvoyant - not always easy. I have a massive soft spot for Brighton novels. If ever I had to countenance living in Blighty again, I would gravitate towards Brighton.

I've spent the last two summers in Sheffield and I swear to God it rained nearly every single miserable fucking day. It's only something like the tenth rainiest city in the country, however.*
I'm doing some research 'cos I'm planning my next move, and I found out the west of the country gets more rain than the east, generally speaking (I'd heard this before from a friend but wrote it off as urban myth/bollocks). So Edinburgh is drier than Glasgow and Cardiff is the rainiest city of all. This stuff's important, right?
*EDIT - nineteenth
