we have our differences. that's okay.
but just imagine lauren bacall in to have and have not, wearin a leather bikini and holdin a sword. have you ever considered the possibility that the long cig holder might've been a stand-in for a sword?
it's possible.

Oh, definitely. Sometimes a cigar isn't just a cigar.

Yes, Anna Magnani gave a tremendous performance.

Me too. When I was 13, Towering Inferno was the "best movie I'd ever seen"!

The one you can't guess, no.4, was Irwin Allen's only flop. I saw that in the theater, too.

see, the truth is... for the time (and i was in fact there mwhaha, like you)... the special FX were incredible. people call em cheezy now, but those effects weren't then. they were ground-breaking. won oscars and stuff.
it's a bit like... do you remember how sports graphics were in the 70s and 80s? we look at em now and laugh at how neanderthal they were. the truth is, they grew exponentially, and fast. go from "battle of the network stars" and buck rogers to star trek: TNG. lightning speed. superbowls changed sooooo fast.
those disaster movies of the 70s most definitely swung the ball along. including spatters of blood on the damn camera lens, which, frankly, was a whole diff step in meta, one really not there before.
it's amazing to me, just how fast they've amped it up.
that being said, i hate airplane movies, as i am a notorious aerophobe. but i love airplane! it basically comes down to leslie nielson.
okay, babbling, but i will put up a contest if ya want.
