I agree with what bluemeanie has said. December is fine by me, a nice pre-christmas bit of fun.

I appreciate the danger of trollism from certain elements but I'd rather not be exclusive (elitist as some would claim) if we can avoid it. I'd prefer to make the cup open to all comers with a polite request for people not to spoil the enjoyment of others. But the competition belongs to Prog Corner not to me so I'll go with the majority decision on this.

Fair enough. Anyway, we should be able to spot a rogue a mile off.

Fartpants contributed last year, and did pretty well too, and I had no objection to that but we'll have to keep an eye out for any dodgy alias from the likes of solardope, john moan, dim dim et al (eg doktor rokster).

Sad there will be no real rokster though and neil jung isn't about these days either so we'll be missing some key participants. I hope Huw will enter this time.

The absolute wankers, they know who they are, will do their utmost to spoil and disrupt things.

Fartpants is different - he is a tosser not a wanker

I think we should only allow those that have regularly posted on PC over the last year or so to vote. I am more than happy to do the vetting before the outset

I'd be delighted to throw my hat into this particular ring.
there are things that I say I should consider, before I talk.

Should we start a call to arms thread?

Good point

I am sure the boss, NMB, has it all under control...

I'm not the boss, just the administrator. Prog Corner is a brother-and-sister-hood (what's the word for that, a siblinghood?) of equals, no bosses required. But yes, a sign-up thread to follow shortly.

Hmmm, I guess there's a back handed compliment in there somewhere.

Just a couple of points - if it's the Prog Cup 2012, surely the earliest we can start it is January? All this talk of a November or December start is, frankly, bollocks.

Secondly, I fully intend to go one better this year and reach the final. You have been warned Progsters!!
