Premier League 19/20... predictions, thoughts, mindless gibberish.....
Here's the first prediction - Liverpool are currently available at 3/1 to win the title. That is an obscenely large price in what should be a two horse race... for the runners up last season and Champions League winners.

Man City will win it comfortably from Spurs and Liverpool.

I'm not saying Man City won't win it - I just think Liverpool are being disrespected by the bookies.
Also - Man City have lost Kompany, Silva has said it's his last season and Fernandinho looks on his last legs too. That's three big, hugely influential players to be talking about replacing. I know he's just spent another fortune on replacements but they may take time to acclimatise. Liverpool have no such problems as I see.
So Lukaku is going to Italy for less than Man Utd paid us a couple of years ago. Good business Everton
Do you know who I think may have been the steal of the market? Tom Heaton to Villa for £8.5 million. Seems to be a fantastic piece of business for a top class keeper. At 33 he's no spring chicken but he played superbly at the end of last season and probably has three very good years left in him.

Have to say very pleased with what Arsenal have achieved in this window, very smart deal making. The contrast between Raul Sanllehi and the latter Gazidas/Wenger partnership is already palpable. We now have a shark who relishes the art of cutting a deal in football's murky waters. That's something we've lacked since Dein left the club way back when.
Spurs have spent a shitload..it'll be interesting to see how they'll integrate all these attacking players in the team and how long they'll take to adjust Poch's high intensity game. Everton have also had a very exciting window. The top six looks fascinating this year. Chelsea and Utd look the most vulnerable.

I think Poch thinks Eriksen will be on his way abroad, hence the stocking up on midfielders.
I like that Arsenal are at least trying to close the gap. But they've taken a real shot with Pepe - really only the one season but very interesting nonetheless. I don't rate Luiz, but for £8 million he has to be a snip. My only concern would be why Chelsea - who cannot buy a replacement- were so keen to get him out, for such a token fee?

Lampard didn't want him.
He's a bit of a loose cannon at times, but I think his ability to play out from the back could really benefit us. It's something we've really lacked. He's obviously a bit of a stopgap, but we have already made a long term signing at CB in the young French lad we've bought.
So much for me saying Spurs are buying exciting forwards - Dybala is now off!

If you can pull off Zaha today, you've a real chance of breaking into the top six. I think you've got a decent chance anyway, along with Leicester.

Rumour is he was told he wasn't guaranteed first time football and threw a strop. Lampard to his credit replied something to the effect of "Looks like you may not be playing ANY first team football"!!

So we couldn't get Zaha. So we went for Iwobi.
For £40 million.
Fuck me, it has been a good transfer window.
For Arsenal.

Yeah I don't know how we got that!
However Iwobi has great attributes as a footballer, he has real ability. If Silva can getting him playing with real aggression and purpose then you'll have a fine footballer...but it's a big if.

He is the worst midfield player I have seen in front of goal in the EPL.
In fact, IN THE WHOLE WORLD.

He lacks confidence and it can affect his final ball/ finishing. I suspect he just doesn't have the right kind of killer mentality to be a top level player.
The best game I saw him play was when he came on when we were 3-0 down to Chelsea in the Europa final last season. He really took the game by the throat and scored a wonder goal. There is a good player in there somewhere, but getting it out of him will be a struggle.

I think there's about £20 million reasons we shouldn't have taken that on.
£20 mill - yeah, why not. £35-40? Nah.

Be interesting to see how Kieren Tierney gets on at the Arse. Had to spend £25 Million to get him from us.

Re: Premier League 19/20... predictions, thoughts, mindless gibberish.....
I can't really see Liverpool replicating what they did last year and to win the title they will have to IMPROVE on last year. They have team stability on their side though and it was a relief non of our key players were sold which for me was far more important than bringing in any major new signings. They'll need to hit the ground running.
Ultimately I think City will be just too strong again and will win the title by a slightly wider margin this year.
I still fancy Spurs to do well and Arsenal to improve. Chelsea will suffer from the loss of Hazzard and who the fuck knows what Utd will do, they are hardest to predict. They could come good, they could be awful.
Zaha to Everton would have been great for them as I really rate him. It's a real shame for Everton it didn't come off. Still I fancy Everton to hover just below the top 6.
My top six is the same as DD's except City top and Liverpool second.

I'm seriously thinking Man U will slump badly - and Ole gets sacked before Xmas. Their transfer strategy is completely fucked - okay to ship Lukaku out but no replacement? They were trying to get Mandzukic.... thirty three years old. What kind of plan is that?
I think Leicester might just sneak sixth so I'm going to alter that prediction above- I think Rogers knows what he wants and got them up and running very quickly last year. Yes losing Maguire is a blow but they can recover from that.

I think we will see mass fan protests directed at the Glazers and Woodward in earnest this season.
Why on earth the club are dragging their heel's on a DoF appointment is anyone's guess, it may simply be Woodward is reluctant to relinquish some of his power.

Early days of course but of all the new signings into the PL this year I have been most impressed by Ndombele. I thought he looked excellent (even excluding his cracking goal).
