Bournemouth were insipid though...but, yes, 4-0 away can;t ever be sniffed at.

Chelsea beating Man City... didn't see that one coming! :D

I doubted Pellegrini at the start of the season, particularly after we lost the first 4 games, but he's got us playing good football again. Anderson in particular is a great purchase, although I guess it won't be long before other clubs are sniffing around him. Hernandez scoring regularly as well, which is nice because he seems like quite a likeable guy.

Arsenal have finally been defeated in a tight game at St Mary's. It's been coming to be honest - we're a battling, hard-working side, but very lacking in creativity. Auba was left very isolated today.

You'd rather be in this position though G, right? Emery has got the team organised and combative at last, and will surely now be looking at how to improve them going forwards.

Is the mask of invincibility slipping at City?

The mask of invincibility may be slipping, but I'm not sure Liverpool are ready to wear it yet, either. Good to have an actual title race still on at Christmas.

This Diamond Dog vs Rayge derby is an absolute cracker. Games without defences are ace.

It's an embarrassment. Maybe Silva wants to take a team like Spurs on in the gunslinger style, but there's only one possible winner of that and it isn't us.

Big couple of games for Liverpool.

They could have a huge impact on how things continue for them. A couple of bad results could kick start a slump as they so often have in January in previous seasons. I think they will beat Arsenal by the odd goal but can see City bouncing back in style and getting a win

I can see them getting 4 points from the two games. They'll beat Arsenal and draw at City. The latter depends on Fernandinho being fit.

Declan Rice was immense at Southampton last night. Alongside Anderson he's been our player of the season so far and should be in the next England squad.

Is he as good as Mark Noble or Stewart Downing?

I wasn't being entirely serious Toby! :D

West Ham are a bit of a surprise package so far - you (and other fans) must be very pleased with how Pellegrini is performing.

West Ham fans are fickle, but yes I’m happy to be proved wrong. I thought it was a miscalculation to appoint him, yet he’s bought well in Diop, Fabianski and Anderson, who in fairness had been on the clubs radar for some time. They’re playing attractive football and scoring goals, which is very important.

I don’t think we will challenge for Europe but clubs will begin to fear us a bit.

I had little faith in the appointment either but he's proving us wrong at present.

I see no reason for them not to challenge for 7th... or 8th (which may be good enough for Europe).

The whole kerfuffle about the London Stadium and the owners shows that when you are winning matches no one cares about that stuff.

I think a trophy would be nice though; 1980 was the last one.

Arsenal didn't play that badly last night, but Liverpool just annihilated them at certain points.

Still, there's a long way to go. If they're six points clear by April then I think it's theirs.
