Turning up the heat.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48235092

Pochettino plans talks with chairman Daniel Levy this summer after five years in charge.

"I am not open to start a new chapter with no plan, with no clear idea, with not being transparent," he said.

"I know very well how this business works," Pochettino said. "And we know we need to operate in a different way - that doesn't mean to spend more or less money.

"But if we expect every season to be in the final of the Champions League, we need to create a plan. And the plan maybe is different to what has happened in the last five years.

"If we believe that if we operate in the same way that we have operated in the last five years we are going to be every season in the final of the Champions League, and in the top four and competing against projects like Liverpool or Manchester City or Manchester United, I think we are very naive," he said.

It absolutely does “mean to spend more money” though doesn’t it Mr Poch?

Do you blame him for wanting to have some money available? I still keep referring to that stat - since Mourinho took over at Man Utd, Spurs have spent a net £29 million. That's inconceivable. There are Championship clubs spending that on a yearly basis.

Absolutely not!

He is brilliant, they HAVE to support him for sure. He obviously loves being there but not enough to stay if he isn’t on a playing field that is at least in the same county as the teams he is competing with.

Any Spurs fans here? Disappointing result today wasn’t it?

Horrendous injury to Lloris.

Looks like their 'best team in 50 years' just got their 'best manager in 50 years' sacked.

I hope to God they have lined up Mourinho. That would mean he would never end up at Arsenal.

Mourinho it is.

Dear oh dear. Poor old Spurs.

Still, you gotta laugh at what is clearly a match made in heaven, Levy and Jose. I mean, that’s guaranteed to work well isn’t it?

Hilarious.

Mourinho back to the tactics that have worked so well over the last 4 years of throwing players under the bus.

Watching this busted flush destroying another club is enjoyable but also somehow sad after the great entertainment provided by Spurs under Poch.

Those tactics always have the effect of obtaining a pay-off for the early termination of his contract.

I was stunned when he got the Spurs job. Just can’t believe how he is still getting jobs at the highest level when it is so obvious that he is poison. And out of date.

I am not a Spurs fan but really enjoyed watching them under Poch.

Levy has fucked up so massively in the last few years it is tragic.

Not giving Poch the funds he needed to capitalise and build.

Appointing Mourinho.

Then getting rid of him just before the FA Cup Final.

Not letting Kane go for £130m.

Appointing Nuno.

Spurs have completely missed the boat with Kane - he'll never be worth that kind of money again and every transfer window is another reminder that they have a depreciating asset. And some might say talent too... he certainly hasn't looked the player he was even last season thus far..... unless it's purely because he doesn't give a fuck any further. Maybe Man City will pick him up for £80 million in January....
