Is this the SFA trying to force the SPL into some action at the meeting on 30th April?

I think it's more to do with no-one knowing who's actually in charge.

Yet another twist as one of the 3 confirmed bids has been withdrawn:

Liquidation surely has to be the most likely outcome now?

Looks like it, FN. What happens to the league table etc if they don't make it till the end of the season?

Not sure, but John Yorkston was on the radio the other day stating that, even if Rangers go out of business, whoever finishes bottom of the SPL should still get relegated - I'd back him all the way on this. Scottish football really needs to get out of this self-preservation nonsense that has pervaded since the SPL was set up.

oooooffffff

Does this mean that the SFA are now the preferred bidder?

Liquidation all but certain now, if it hadn't been already.

Rangers fans aren't happy, saying its not fair. I wonder what they think would be fair?

I've got to say, I was a bit surprised at the one-year transfer embargo. I suspect this will be commuted on appeal, but I think the SFA have made their point regarding Rangers' mistreatment of other clubs - now they have to back that up by challenging the SPL's ludicrous proposals re punishments for insolvent clubs.

And as for Rangers fans trying to suggest that only Whyte, not the Club, should be held responsible - sorry, but that will NEVER wash; that's the way football works.

All very well, but what's the SPL's agenda (official or otherwise) for this meeting on April 30th?

Surely the only outcome should be start again in 3rd division (if they accept them)

They $ky contract will be a lot less, too, as I understand it stipulates 4 OF games per season

If the SPL are shown to be weaker on this issue than the SFA (who, remember, are "known" to be chock-full of "Rangers-minded" people), then I can see many, many fans turning their back on the SPL altogether:

Yes, indeed.

I don't think I would go back if a new football club was granted immediate SPL status.

I mean, WTF?

Given that the SFA last week called for a single body to run league football within Scotland, and now this, maybe the Blazers have grown some balls.

Not before time...

Ticketus must be pretty certain of their position as preferred creditor, or some other deal must have been struck - I can't see them walking away from a £20m+ investment otherwise.

This almost slipped under my radar given the attention I've been paying to some statements made by Rangers legends over the past day or so.

I don't know who the biggest fud is from that lot - Jardine, Smith or Hateley.

For naming all 3 of the SFA panel, I think I'll opt for Hateley.
