Baron on your radio radio

Postby BARON CORNY DOG » 22 Apr 2020, 14:17

As discussed elsewhere, my college radio station (that I was heavily involved in about 25 years ago  ) solicited some alumni to submit shows, presumably to fill in for absent students and quarantined community members). Since I have the gear at the house to do the John & Mary Show, I was happy to do it. So, if you feel like having me play the records you'd expect me to play for two hours seems like a good idea, you're in luck. Without Min, there is less sparkle and absolutely no hilarity. Which describes me, now that I think of it. If I get old shows digitized (there are one or two tapes around) or if I do more of these (there will probably be a couple), I'll post em here.

I need to catch up on the last few J&M Shows, you're pumping them out so fast! When it rains it pours. Nice work, M&A.

I'm on tonight for what should be a regular slot for the remainder of the summer, until the students are back. It's a little later, though. 11pm-1am on the east coast. Super early morning in the UK and very early morning in Europe.

A higher quotient of jazz than I might normally do, but it feels good right now.

From Yoko to Ricky Skaggs . . . with a stop in Jamaica, as usual.

I meant for this to be a bit of a psych blowout, but it sounds a little labored on playback. It's interesting, you always learn something listening to these things back. Win some, lose some.

I'm stepping aside for the fall semester but will be doing these again intermittently and hopefully regularly again next summer. So this is the last show for my summertime Tuesday night slot.
