Re: Ray's Photos
Part Two
Features print scans from the 21st century. Woo!!!
First four from Bristol along the docks
Entry
To the Planetarium
Po-Mo Goes Deco
Riverside developments
Balcony
Hillside Gardens
In the centre of the picture you can just see the masts of the Matthew, replica of the ship in which Cabot sailed
from Bristol to North America in 1497
Rush Hour
One of only two through roads in Kenn, North Somerset, where I lived from 2005 to 2010
Discovery
That's the variety of the apple. There were five apple trees in the garden: one, a James Grieve, provided the best apples I ever had.
Partners
The Pieris and maple currently in the garden here were already mature when we moved to Kenn. They were put together because they both like the same shady, wind-sheltered conditions
More tomorrow, or possibly Friday

Blue, All the Way to Nailsea
Delphinium
Escholzia
aka California poppies
Her Again
Phyllis Bede, but a different plant to the one growing in my garden today
Very Umbel, Sir
The Riot Bed
The lack of water-feature outside Chip's writing shed suggests at 2006-7 date for this: maybe the others are earlier than I thought, too
Look at it Another Way
Poppy Love
Frightening the Horses
Double-Teamed Scabious
Plenty more where and when they came from, tomorrow

Re: Ray's Photos
Today in Part One, continuing with the more recent than usual archive stuff from our time at Kenn, Somerset, 2005-10
Bells
Don't know exactly where this is: Chip loved bluebells, and would think nothing - well, little – of driving
20 or 30 miles to check out a known bluebell wood in season. This one is very much a hit. It is definitely
May, 2007 give or take a couple of years, and probably east Somerset, out towards Shepton Mallet.
Pom-Poms
Angelica, back in the garden in Kenn. We didn't plant this, and I've never grown it before or since, but it''s
pretty spectacular
Whorls
House leeks, also in the garden, or on the walls anyway, and Nothing to Do with Me
Waves
High tide at Clevedon Pill. That red boat with the white top is in so many of my pictures.
A long lens has foreshortened things. The church tower on the spit of land is Woodspring Priory, a couple of miles
away down the coast, Worlebury Hill on the left another two miles away at the south end of Sand Bay, and
the misty bit in the middle is the Quantocks or Exmoor, 15 miles or more beyond that
Mono Mania
Extravagant markings – monocle, saddle, and snout in the sugar bowl – on the cavorting recently-born foal.
More mature equines try to pretend it's nothing to do with them. Kenn, 2008 maybe
Phase Shift
Kenn, 2008 maybe
Homes on the Half-Shell
Topsham, Devon, 2007-8
Tomorrow, more of this vintage, and of Clevedon

Re: Ray's Photos
Today, in part one, finishing off our walk to Creedy Beach, starting with three pictures of Him.
Emerging
I like the distorted reflection of his head
Back to His Roots
Eddies
Closed Canopy
Impressionism
Arc Light
Small World, Big Sky
Tomorrow, back to the garden to see out the month in a couple of blazes of colour (today's part two follows in a short while)

Re: Ray's Photos
Part Two, from the Print Scans archive, again features the years 2005-2010, and begins with a quartet taken in Clevedon
The Bark Barrel
Kes, who joined us in 2003 from Bath Dog's home, aged 5, and died a few months before Chip in May 2012
Unnaturally Blue
Clevedon's 'marina', which captures seawater for tourist to frolic in and around when the huge tidal reach
leaves the beaches a sea of mud or makes them disappear entirely
Bent
Scot's pines sculpted by the onshore winds
Victorian Frontage
Now back to the house and garden in Kenn
Snake's Heads
Apple Blossom
Reflections
I got to build a rather large pond in the garden at Kenn, big enough to actually have a bit of clear water for reflecting
rather than a load of lily-pads covering the whole surface
Tomorrow, trips to Ware and West Wales. Different rivers, different dogs!
