Today's batch is all about perception, suggestion, imagination and alteration.
We begin with a theme and five variations from the last day or August:

This Is the Way, Step Inside

The Day the Dam Broke

And in the past, some created in the camera:

Owing to a sudden outbreak of smudgy sensor rot on my current camera, I've had to switch to a back-up Lumix, and in the process

As some of you may know, for the last couple of months I have been occupied quite intensely (for me) with the last stages of a major phase of a very large (again, for me) project in the garden, which has involved taking apart an outbuilding, erecting a greenhouse on the spot (the only relatively level and sunny site in the garden), and using the makings of the building ( a few hundred bricks, roofing tiles, timber, and around eight cubic yards of demolished cob) to lay new paths and terracing, create new beds, and do something spectacular with a ten-foot sailboat I acquired from a neighbour, whose husband had abandoned it and her. It's not remotely seaworthy, so I'm going to turn it into a very large planter which I am going to place on a plinth I created out of the cob spoil, located just over the boundary on the wild land owned by the same neighbour.
This means she gets the boat out of her way, and I not only get rid of the spoil without putting pressure on my land, but I also bury the battalions of nettles, bindweed and bramble that invade the same land on a regular basis under a layer of sterile soil, membranes and other anti-weed devices, and the rest of the street, if it all goes to plan, gets to see a spectacular display in a prominent position. Anyway, that's the plan. It's also by the by.
Yesterday, while putting the finishing touches to the polycarbonate skeleton of the new greenhouse, I managed to fall off a stepladder and bring down part of the roof, so today was a forced hiatus while I waited for new parts and nursed my scrapes and bruises. Which meant – he says, reaching the point three paragraphs in, that I had I had plenty of time for photo editing, so I'm going to carry on today with a day out with Him and Herself, bumbling around the local countryside in the first decanate of September.

Today it's all about the Devon, because I can. Continuing our day in the country, gently mooching around the lanes a few miles west of here.
And visiting churches. I'm not keen on Xian ritual and doctrine, but I am fond of churches, for various reasons I'll go into sometime. I've been photographing them inside and out since the 1970s, but I have to say this is one area where digital photography wins hands down over film because of the latitude it gives you.
