Re: An image (or two, or three, maybe a dozen. Or more) a day
Today's batch is all about perception, suggestion, imagination and alteration.
We begin with a theme and five variations from the last day or August:
The Fallen
This Is the Way, Step Inside
Breaking Wave
Penetrating Wound
The Day the Dam Broke
The War Between Night and Fire
And in the past, some created in the camera:
Droplet
Obstacles and Guides on the Route to the Temple of Sid Wom
Depth of Focus
Tomorrow there'll be something from September. Probably

Extreme Vetting
Meet ’n’ Greet at the kennels on a playdate
Tableau
Ros Rollo Brian and Drummond
Lightweights
Rollo and Gracie too tired to chase balls while the Duracell Bunny was off after everything that flew
Dambuster
No stick unmolested!
Curtain Call - That's All Folks!
(Well of course that isn't all, but it's a hellacious busy {in a good way} week and I may have to resort to more whiskery material over the next few days).
And, indeed, right here: from the ’80s...
Critter Tree
Just look at it for a bit: how many eyes are there in there, limbs, jaws? It's a shifting, slithering mass of simulacra
Tiptoe Through the Deco
Fluffed, Effulgent and Misted With Desire
Hashish prepared for the bowl
Altar
Across the Alley from the Alamo
Bonus point if you understand what the caption refers to
Tomorrow: well,å your guess is as good as mine, and I haven't got a clue. We live in exciting times.

At Times such as this of supreme busyness and failure to meet editing targets, with the clamour for chromatic adventures grows ever louder, the superior man reaches for his garden squares, no matter how long ago (nine weeks, as it happens)
Cymbal Crash
Rudbeckia and Chinese foxglove

Monarda

The Next Big Thing
Still Game
Sevens
Heffalump
Smaug
Tomorrow there will be more of the same, although I may not actually post it tomorrow: off to London on business, AFK almost all day.

Made it back in time. More flowers, more rootling in places in the attic that may better have been left unrootled...
I'm into the groovy, big time
Gaura
I've been pronouncing this GOW-rah for years and apparently it's meant to rhyme with 'aura'. Oh well. Pretty thing, wafting about on tall, delicate stems

Re: An image (or two, or three, maybe a dozen. Or more) a day
Busy days afoot at Granger Towers as the foundations are in for the new greenhouse, but here I'm still dicking about at the tail end of August in the garden.
Shocking
Blue
Begonias
and speaking of the new greenhouse, here's the site two months ago,
Colour Coded
Sappers on Smoke Break
and as a special treat, the way it looked this evening just before they swung the last great block of oak into place.
Which leaves just four from the archives, although of a slightly later vintage than others shown recently
Balls
Nets
Banana Nightmare
Soul Monkey
Got in excess of £500 for these six eight to ten years ago
Hurrah for me.
Tomorrow, up against it...

Sapper Scrap Reporting for Duty
Too Tall
Fading
Gearing
And that's like, the last one on photobucket that I took this year, and since tomorrow's my 68th birthday, and an occasion for celebrations (not least because all my mother's five brothers, one of her sisters and her father all died between the ages of 65 and 67, and likewise my father and both his parents died in 1967) that will certainly preclude editing the mass of pictures I took since the beginning of September (667 and counting), y'all are going to have to make do without Him and with metaphorical navel fluff for the next day or few: something like this lot...
Pulp
Baubles
Beans
Only Sleeping
The Murder Mystery
This came about when I accidentally put two slides in the scanner at once and created a double exposure
California
Tomorrow ( I may have mentioned this before) is my birthday. I shall expect you all to be queuing up around the block to offer me your adoration. Or at least to come back some time.

Re: An image (or two, or three, maybe a dozen. Or more) a day
Owing to a sudden outbreak of smudgy sensor rot on my current camera, I've had to switch to a back-up Lumix, and in the process
discovered thereon a cache of photos taken at the end of August on an evening walk up the hill behind the house.
Sandford
Furlongs and Upton Hellions
Reach Out

Badgers' Oak
And room for some randomness

Tower of Song
I wrote an article on Jukeboxes for a collectors' partwork called Times Past, and got to go and check out someone's collection
in an industrial unit in glamorous Willesden. In the yard outside he had the model of Marilyn pictured above.

My obsession with the Creedy continues in September, and the old stuff comes over all autumnal:

Re: An image (or two, or three, maybe a dozen. Or more) a day
As some of you may know, for the last couple of months I have been occupied quite intensely (for me) with the last stages of a major phase of a very large (again, for me) project in the garden, which has involved taking apart an outbuilding, erecting a greenhouse on the spot (the only relatively level and sunny site in the garden), and using the makings of the building ( a few hundred bricks, roofing tiles, timber, and around eight cubic yards of demolished cob) to lay new paths and terracing, create new beds, and do something spectacular with a ten-foot sailboat I acquired from a neighbour, whose husband had abandoned it and her. It's not remotely seaworthy, so I'm going to turn it into a very large planter which I am going to place on a plinth I created out of the cob spoil, located just over the boundary on the wild land owned by the same neighbour.
This means she gets the boat out of her way, and I not only get rid of the spoil without putting pressure on my land, but I also bury the battalions of nettles, bindweed and bramble that invade the same land on a regular basis under a layer of sterile soil, membranes and other anti-weed devices, and the rest of the street, if it all goes to plan, gets to see a spectacular display in a prominent position. Anyway, that's the plan. It's also by the by.
Yesterday, while putting the finishing touches to the polycarbonate skeleton of the new greenhouse, I managed to fall off a stepladder and bring down part of the roof, so today was a forced hiatus while I waited for new parts and nursed my scrapes and bruises. Which meant – he says, reaching the point three paragraphs in, that I had I had plenty of time for photo editing, so I'm going to carry on today with a day out with Him and Herself, bumbling around the local countryside in the first decanate of September.
Dessert Menu
Lunch at The New Inn, which probably got that name a couple of hundred years ago. At least.
Squidgy Chocolate Brownie (no nuts) with Vanilla Ice Cream
One for the Expats
The beating heart of Zeal Monachorum replete with nostalgic detail
Time Machine
Barred
Garden View
There's more to come from that day, but there's some stoned pics from the eighties clamouring to be heard...
Horny
Staggered
Comma
Showing the mark that named it
Revolution in the Mind
Continuing tomorrow in the same rich vein

Re: An image (or two, or three, maybe a dozen. Or more) a day
Today it's all about the Devon, because I can. Continuing our day in the country, gently mooching around the lanes a few miles west of here.
And visiting churches. I'm not keen on Xian ritual and doctrine, but I am fond of churches, for various reasons I'll go into sometime. I've been photographing them inside and out since the 1970s, but I have to say this is one area where digital photography wins hands down over film because of the latitude it gives you.
Shelfie with Unknown Waterway
I often take pictures of my shadow. It's my best feature
Meditation Piece 226
Look deep and THE FACES WILL EMERGE
That was an accidental caps lock, but I think I'll leave that one
Emerald Falls
Shelfie with Pondskaters
Fuck Art I'm Thirsty
Stoned Again
The many ages, textures, tones, styles and fauna of masonry at Down St Mary
Thresher
16th- or 17th-century carved bench-end
Stairway
Nave roof
(groovy effect can be obtained if you scroll up and down on this one)
Tuppence coloured...
...Penny Plain
We'll be done with this jaunt tomorrow...
