Bought it the next day and loved it straight away, love it's haunting, isolationist, fatalistic quality.

I'm playing it now and again I'm loving the tone but wishing the pieces had been more developed.

Yes - that was my feeling too.

Some of the tracks just get going and then they are over.

Often the thing with soundtracks though.

Vangelis and TD come immediately to mind

Kind of liked the shortness of the tracks but I can understand where you're coming from. Really like the album though.

Never quite sure if I'm listening to genius or drivel with the Mothers/Frank - a challenging listen, interesting though. Spirit, now that's a different matter.

Broad church at work here.

New York is my favourite Lou Reed album - Transformer is great but for me NY just eclipses it.

Had on Nazareth's Razamanaz briefly, came off almost immediately, can't stand that sort of stuff - was a cheap car boot sale buy many years ago.

New York is my favourite Lou Reed album although I am not a massive fan.

Good call with Mighty Baby - a fine band

Thunderclap Newman - I must give that a spin

As for Nazareth, I was never a fan although I sawn them live in 1974 at the local college - they were o

Original box set, all four CDs - well my wife likes them and at least she's not going to say, 'I don't call this music', which is what she said during Brainticket's 'Cottonwoodhill'. Strangely she was okay with The Mothers.

Sailors' Tales - King Crimson

Been playing this for the past month. You get Steven Wilson's 5.1 mixes of In the Wake of Poseidon, Lizard, and Islands, along with the stereo mix of the live Earthbound. Not to mention tons of extra live shows. 27 discs total, including four blu rays and two DVDs. I had purchased The Road to Red a while back and been so impressed I got this. If you're not a Crimso diehard though, I wouldn't recommend it.

I’ve played them before, but they were really only part background music again yesterday as work is a bit intense at the moment.

Maybe I’ll get the headphones out over the weekend and do them justice.
