A friend recently heard an interview with the late Norman "Hurricane" Smith, in which it was revealed that Wally Waller and another, unnamed member of The Pretty Things played on "Oh Babe, What Would You Say"! (Hurricane himself played drums and piano on it.)

LIBERACE presents Vince Cardell (1975) - co-produced by Ed Cobb, who produced The Standells (and wrote some if not all of their best songs) and the Chocolate Watch Band, and wrote "Tainted Love" and "Every Little Bit Hurts".

The perfect gift for the soul or garage fan who has everything!

Just bought this 1970 Brazilian album over the weekend -

- and among the many backing vocalists on the cut "Nepal" is one Lizzie Villas-Bôas Bravo!

A quick internet search has revealed that it isn't that Nanette Newman on vocals on You Can't Always Get What You Want. I'll get me coat.

Joe Baxter wrote:Elton John played on Blue's Another Night Time Flight * album and on the Capture Your Heart single from the album.* He also played on their Fool's Party album and played with them onstage at the Reading Festival.

Ironically, Elton also duetted with the other Blue, the early 00s UK boy band on his own 'Sorry Seems...'. It was fucking shite.

A couple of things learned today while leafing through Richie Unterberger's Velvet Underground book (I've had it for four years now, and still have only read it in a haphazard fashion):

1) Lewis Merenstein, best known for producing Astral Weeks, was the recording engineer for The Stooges!

2) The model on this LP cover -

- is Nico. This is mainly significant to me because when I was very young, I spent many happy hours playing In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida and poring over the inner sleeve, which was festooned with other albums on the Atco label - including this one.

Nico's also the model on this cover -

- as I learned when I first got the book four years ago.

The guy who played drums (AC played everything else) on Alex Chilton's cover of The Seeds' "Can't Seem to Make You Mine" later co-wrote the Tears for Fears hit "Everybody Wants to Rule the World."

I forget his name.

I missed this post last time! I didn't know Nico was the model on those lp covers though tbh, I can't recall the first one, but the Bill Evans album??? 8-)

Birdsong impersonator Percy Edwards also appears on a Kate Bush track The Dreaming which also features Rolf Harris on didgereedoo. Rolf also appears as himself (i.e. a painter describing his picture as he paints) on Aeriel. It's safe to assume he won't be part of her upcoming live shows.

...and you find that surprising?

She has a new one, by the way; herself and Billy Vera (Chip Taylor being the link). Some duets; some solo numbers by each. On Taylor's Trainwreck label.

Possibly surprising to her husband, too; I got billing above his.

I've ordered that as well.

Heretofore I've only known her '60s recordings (and not all of those); I'm playing catch-up.
